Hello all, I'm new to this community and I was perusing this particular thread (yes, all 8 parts) and it was very interesting to see the different views and opinions regarding this film. Here are my thoughts:
As a fan of both The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, I can honestly say that (going into this film with an open mind) I was genuinely disappointed. I'm not going to list out my issues because a lot of them are similar to what others have already said. I will say that my main issue, even before seeing the film, was the casting of Sarah Connor. I decided to give the film a chance anyway because Terminator

Anyway, what I saw was NOT Sarah Connor in any concept of the character. What I did see was an attempt for Hollywood to make someone happen that should not happen. Just because some people think she's hot, that does not mean they should be cast. When my friend told me that both Brie Larson and Tatiana Maslany were considered for the role the whole experience became even more tragic.
Don't get the hate for Jai Courtney. He was given crap to work with and poor direction. Watch Felony. He can act when given the right direction and script to work with. Watch the newest Suicide Squad trailer. He basically stole it.
I've heard some people argue 'but Emilia looks like a young Linda Hamilton'. I didn't and still don't see it. Obviously if the casting directors were going by that, then Boyd Holbrook should have been cast as Kyle Reese, but I guess they only wanted to make sure that Sarah looked like a young Linda but Kyle did not have to look like a young Michael Biehn. Regardless, I was trying to imagine who I would have cast instead for the role of badass Sarah:
1.Tatiana Maslany
2.Brie Larson
3.Emily Blunt
4.Lyndsy Fonseca (Nikita and Agent Carter)
5.Lauren Cohan
That list took 5 seconds. The good news is, Brie dodged a bullet and got herself a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination.
