I dunno, after seeing a few Sam Worthingon movies, I could go without him as Green Lantern right now.

Why is Sam Worthington the best hope to play Hal Jordan? Not according to his disappointing performance in Terminator.
Is Hal Australian, cause that could work.

It's because the media put him on the spotlight.

Well, I'm interested in seeing 'Avatar' before I make any firm judgements on his acting skills; and whether or not to consider him for various future roles. However, I'm pretty sure we'll all see something good of him in 'Avatar'. Afterall, James Cameron (and his self both) wanted Worthington to star in this film to build up some status around him as an actor.

God, people act like Avatar is the best movie ever and its the only movie he's been in. I've see him in other movies. I've seen Somersault. And I've seen Rogue. And I'm still waiting to be impressed.

Excellent question.

It wouldn't of made a difference seeing as the movie is already loaded with stupidity.

It would've made a difference for the sequels. I don't think anyone wanted a robot Connor to run the resistance.

Dude, welcome to the 'Hype'. I'm not praising this as "the best movie ever". God, in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger: "Stop whining".

Isn't he going to be like a 10 foot blue alien in that movie anyway?

That is if Avatar really exists. :hehe:

Arnold doesn't deserve to be quoted anymore for ruining California and running it into the ground. Voters gave him a big fat NO on Tuesday.

Buddy, I don't care his run as govenor of California. He'll forever exist in my mind as a movie-star.

Well, I'm not quite sure how to review this. The viewing experience wasn't what I wanted, but that had nothing to do with the movie, so I'm trying to filter that out of my mind. I thought the action, story, acting, music cinematography, and effects were all there. The editing really took me out of the movie, though. I'm not sure what was cut, but it was obvious between certain shots or scenes that something was missing. The movie really needed about 15 minutes more to go from a 7 to a 9 in my book. Okay, now that I've got my whining out of the way, I'll elaborate on the praise.

I thought the acting was solid. It was easy for Worthington and Yelchin to churn out their performances, as I thought those two characters had the best and most material. I hate that everyone seems so sour on John Conner and Bale's performance. My only beef was that there wasn't enough of Conner in the final cut.

Aside from editing, I was most impressed with the technical aspects of the movie. Between Star Trek and Terminator, I feel a little spoiled in that department. The stuff with Marcus' face, especially in Skynet, was great. The T-800 101 was pretty good. It was fun to see more than it was impressive. I would have preferred a little more of a cat-and-mouse hunt between the T-800 and Conner, but it worked. I really liked the weight that the 800 had as a CGI model. That added so much menace to the thing. The 600's as well. Very well done.

I guess the last big thing I want to discuss is the score. I really liked what Danny Elfman did with it. He made it his own, a very warlike composition, but kept enough connection to Brad Fiedel's work, especially from 1984, to make it a Terminator soundtrack. I guess the best compliment I can say is that it didn't actually sound like a Danny Elfman score.

Again, I'm giving this a 7/10. There was certainly room for improvement, but I suspect that the material cut from the movie is responsible for that. If we do get the R or unrated cut in four months, it will be interesting to compare the two and see how much better one is over the other.

ok just got back from seeing ts and i have one question and one problem

question:

How the bloody hell does skynet know to kill kyle reese? unless i missed a quick scene explaing it then we never got that answer.

problem:

the action was top notch BUT there was no real story here. This is the same problem wolverine had, these new school directors dont take time to set up a story and let the action come out of the story. clear example with this movies was there was action like bam bam bam then quick chat with the idiots at the gas station then bam bam bam. if there is going to be another terminator then please i advise MCG to sit down pan out a story and then create the action around the story. its this simple: have a main purpose for the characters involved and also make sure every character is needed and vital to the story, then have a clear cut journey for them to go on and then at the end of this journey have a resolution to that story. look at any great action movie, they all have the action born out of the story and conflict.

I can say this. I didn't hate the movie cause it was at least better than Wolverine, or at least looked better, but ALL of my friends loved it. Six of them thought it was an A+ or perfect, and I only had one guy agree with me that ST was better. So yeah, people are liking it.

It's not in line with the other Terminator films because it has no meaning and is complete mindless action. It's McG, people. The guy who calls himself McG. (He sucks.)

I accept that challenge and raise you Neil Marshall's Doomsday. :) Bloody good that!

Damn, too bad this this got bad reviews, and it seems a lot of people on here thought it was decent at best. I was really looking forward to this! Regardless, I'm seeing this after school with a few friends and going in with very low expectations. I'll post a review tomorrow and what my friends thought of it.:yay:

Is that a legacy he deserves? You can't say he's not trying as governor.

It's not completely mindless. The voiceovers at the end hint at some themes... they're just not presented too frequently.

I was just expecting more of what we saw from the previous 2 movies action wise. The battle scenes, the laser guns, all that. Hopefully, that's what we get in the next movies.

It's almost entirely mindless, but I'm curious what these themes you've discovered are...

Hmmm... It's a cold, cruel day when Terminator 4 has a lower tomatometer score than a Wayans brothers comedy...

To be honest, I'll still see a movie if it gets good or bad reviews and judge it for myself, but it's definitely great if you're looking for certain critic's review. Though, reading a few reviews from "professionals" like Victoria Alexander and Claudia Puig....:facepalm. Anyway, you shouldn't judge a movie on it's percentage alone( Look at Fight Club when it was released).
