Good movie but too many cuts were made for that PG-13 rating plus it made the film feel a bit short, hopefully there will be a extended unrated cut for the dvd release.

It is sad that we did not get something like that, Zink.

Even the scenes from T1 were amazing.

I don't mind we didn't get the laser guns. I accept this is before then. But at the very least we could have had a futuristic war movie.

I was almost looking forward to Black Hawk Down meets Terminator 2.

I thought it was an okay movie nothing overly spectacular, but not terrible neither. I just think the story flow was weak and had little consistancy to it at all.
I did like the ode's to T2/T1 in the movie even though it very cliche of them to do.
When the lady asked JC what she should tell his crew about where he is going and he said "I'll be back",very predictable, but yet amusing. Him playing the GNR sound when he disbled that Terminator-bike. I really enjoyed the CGI-Arnold Terminator though Id would of loved it if he said something Arnold would of said. The ending sequence kindof reminded me of the ending of T2 in the steel factory.
I just think it lacked a good pace and action to make it a great movie, plus I did'nt care for the kid who played Reese. The whole Marcus story was good,it was kindof not done great, but you got the picture of what Skynets start of the program.

I really wanted to see some epic battles.

After this scene from T2:

Even if was just an army of T-600s I wanted to see some real peril and danger against the resistance forces.
That shot's from 'T3', Zink:oldrazz:

But yeah, I tend to agree with you. It was pretty disappointing that we weren't able to see an epic-scale battle between the Resistance and the Machines. And with this purposed sequel, they wish to take it back to pre-Judgement Day?

Yes, this was better than T3, but that's not saying much. I mean, if that's considered praise, then I think it's a very low expression of praise.

And if I felt that a sequel was going to be absolutely terrible, then I just wouldn't go to see it in the theater. If the best you can hope for is that a movie isn't the absolute worst in its series, then your expectations are too low. You will either be satisfied by just about anything that holds your attention for a couple of hours, or you will simply find something else to do with your time and money.

i havent seent the movie yet but i think that epic battle will take place in T5

You know.... everybody's a critic...
Roger Ebert LOVED the Garfield movies... but HATED Star Trek
So ya... he doesn't control the movies I watch

i liked the first garfield. star tek was average. it only seemed good because of the weak movies released so far. they are playing to their level of competition. the guys that get me are those that don't like criticism. i'm critical all over TS. i should, i loved the terminator series since T1 in theaters and by my opinion and the majority, and it is the majority, it left me hanging my head.

Hey was that girl who worked for cyberdyne and became part of skynet a terminator or a human in the beginning because im wondering if she/it was sent back in time for that project to be done on Marcus.

I'm going tonight! I'm fairly sure I'll effing love it.

I'm all for more Terminator movies. If they pull together Bale and Bryce Dallas Howard and so forth, they can totally keep on going with this new groove they're on now. The movie is exactly what I wanted it to be. It's big fun.

lol. Bryce...what the heck did she do in the movie?

I can remember her having MAYBE 15 lines.

6/10 and I am not sure why exactly this movie didn't grab me. I agree with the Bale phoning in his Batman impressions. It's just that I care about Batman but not John Conner for whatever reason. No one character had much of my sympathy though I thought Marcus' discovery that he was a machine was well played. I did like the kid who played Reese but that's mostly because I know him well aready from other movies that he did well in. The motor bike terminators were very cool, but nothing else much was. :( I guess for me, Star Trek is still firmly in place as the best movie of this year so far for me. This one didn't even come close.

I completely disagree on this Bale/Batman stuff.

I mean, that's just the actor. That's how he acts when he's angry. :p

I hadn't noticed it until I saw this film. :p I don't have much of Bale's work outside of Batman to go back and see....

And on an odd note, I personally feel like thematically, the original ending of Marcus becoming Robo-John would've almost fit the theme of the movie better than what we got.

That's what I thought coming out of the theater as well. I don't see how [BLACKOUT]Marcus giving his heart to John[/BLACKOUT] was supposed to be the improved ending. I didn't give two cents about John the whole film and [BLACKOUT]Marcus is the one that dies for him[/BLACKOUT]? Thanks for wasting my time.

As a whole, I don't see why humanity is worth saving in this film. The Resistance is almost completely inept, the stragglers are detestable lowlifes, and outside of Blair, Marcus, and Kyle there aren't any compassionate figures to feel a pathos for. But it's not like the machines are written any better, with Terminators who have problems terminating and the plot dumping Skynet is reduced to...

That's one of the reasons I disliked the redneck rape attempt scene. It felt so out of place.

And for a war movie there's virtually no war scenes in it. Where are all the massive battles with the terminators that they said we were going to see.

Exactly.

Plus, I liked Helena Bonham Carter's role better when it was in The Matrix :o

Sadly, McG is better at building hype than he is at creating the product to go along with the hype he builds. And we all bought into it :(
