Just re-watched this. I only enjoyed it because of the great efftects and bleak cinematography on the big screen. That doesn't translate well at all to a video broadcasted on OnDemand to a crappy tubeset.

I like T1 and T2 and I still kinda like this movie.

It's mostly for the look though. I really like the look of the film in general, but unfortunately the plot is just so lackluster.

McG had no control whatsoever on that set. Bale could have done whatever he pleased, it seemed.

I wonder, what IF TS was the first film in the Terminator Series, would people still love it as much as T1, if it were filmed in the early 80's

It's hard to say. The first Terminator movie was low budget and Cameron was probably a workhorse to make that movie work.

If TS came out first with the same script, level of acting, with 80s effects, it probably would have been remembered for being a pretty movie but that's it.

The chopper crash was very well done.

And I still like the final confrontation in Skynet, even if the Terminator threw everyone around a lot. Never had a problem with that.

I still think the petrol station scene and subsequent chase is a great action set-piece that is good enough to grace any action movie. I like the factory showdown but John should have put up a better physical fight against the Terminator seeing as he is the one who tought humans "to fight, to storm the wire of the camps and smash those metal mother****ers to junk......."
