Looking at this movie, I really feel upset. I couldn't see it when it came out because it was sold out, so here it is on dvd and now that's I've seen it, I feel like the T-1000 took a sword to my face. How did this happen? The first Terminator was good in the sense that it was groundbreaking with Winston's effects and the story was good. It was deep down among the violence and effects, a love story. Not too lovey dovey, but realistic. Also the drama of having an unreasonable thing after you with only one goal was pretty damn scary.
T2 was just amazing. Great special affects, great acting, storyline was damn good, and the ending actually choked me up.
T3: Evil terminator, is a hot chick, with boobs. Women who kick ass are in style now, so lets have one on screen fighting Arnold. The only thing I liked about T3 was the ending when John and Kate were in the bunker talking to the other survivors.
Salvation was just, it was. This was no terminator film at all. It was a madmax/iraq war movie mixed together with robots. Worthington's character would've been better as the villain. Worthington looking for a second chance as good of an actor as he was, in the director's cut where he beats up the attempted rapists, that's what he should've been, a killing machine. Anton Yelchin did great as Kyle, but his screen time was way too short, the character of Star was lame. The editing was confusing as hell, one minute 80s Arnold is beating Bale's ass, then the next time you see Bale, he's peaking from behind the corner like a swat officer in the next second.
The story would've worked better if it was frankly, just Reese on a mission to find his savior/unknown father. Also, how does skynet know of Kyle Reese fathering Connor before he's even sent back? Wasn't the whole point of Terminator that John was kicking ass and skynet sent a T-800 back to stop him from being concieved? So now the timeline is screwed up and Bale was barely in the film. Worthington got more attention then anyone. I also got the feeling that Worthington should've been cast as John due to all the screen time he got. The film was about Connor, not some former deathrow inmate walking around in 2018. I hope Mcg doesn't come back for another movie. Even how Connor got his scar was pretty weak.
