Terminator Salvation

wow a few weeks back G4 gave a sneak peak of this game and said it looked great.. today they finally reviewed it and said it sucks.. hmmm def a rental!

Saw the movie today and thought it was incredible so i wanted to check out the game. Got home, read a few reviews, looked at some videos, yea DEFF PASSING on this. Shame too, this could have been really cool.

So glad I rented this. This game is definitely not worth $60.

i dont get how they make these games and are so certain we will love it.. i mean do they not have a test group?? sumone sumwhere at sum point should be like ummm na change this add this this n this.. i mean u would think by now with all the ingredients available to make a bad ass game that we would get more great games... especially when this coulda been good... they instead F it all up and then price tag it at $60.00 i mean are these companies out of their F'n mind?? lol

They don't care man. Seriously. The publisher doesn't care if the product is good or not, they just want something they can push with the release of a film. Being that they have to do barely any advertising, it saves em a good bit in developing costs. Rarely does a publisher give the developer the time to create a really good game, and its not always the publishers fault, sometimes the movie company wont give them the rights to the project until the movie is already underway, leaving the dev with little time to make a good product.

The fact is, you CAN make good movie licensed games, one look at Starbreeze's The Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay proves it. Now granted they were given more leeway to create a story of their own, but it was still a tie in. Altho if you look at the recent Wolverine game, Raven was able to do well, even with more of a strict guideline to follow in terms of story.

Basically it all comes down to time. Give these developers time, and they might be able to push out more than just pure crap.

The review I saw didn't seem quite so bad.

I mean, short and very generic and easy seemed to be the gripe. Doesn't seem worth it's price tag, that is.

But didn't seem like that bad a wreck. The video review over at Gamespot seemed like Bionic Commando was worse than Salvation...even though it got a lower score than BC.

It has its enjoyable moments. I beat the game last night and it took me maybe a total of 4 and 1/2 hours to beat, on hard. The gameplay can be enjoyable but if it had more battles like Gears of War. It would've been way more fun. That and the game still has some noticeable glitches.

This game would be worth it if it goes down to $15 or $20. I would like to keep it incase I want to hear the score thats in the game again because the music is way better then the movie score.

Also, Bionic Commando, while the achievements are broken, like Broken Steel, is really fun. You die super quick, even on normal, but its still really fun.

you kno the older i get the more the saying "money is the root of all evil" rings truer and true by the day.. smh...

Haha, thats sucks but yea, this game was trash, played it over at a buddies for like 10 min, worst 10 minutes iv spent on the 360 in quite some time.

So...I wasn't sure where to post this, but since I'm thinking of gettig the game for like $15 whatever.

Apparently, GRIN closed down because of Square Enix.

It was probably just stupid bussiness moves, perhaps. But, GRIN but all they're eggs in one basket by expecting the money that they had agreed on with Square. When Square backed off and did not make expected payments, GRIN went under.

So it seems not Bionic Commando or Terminator Salvation are the reasons. Still, they probably didn't help.
