I'm gonna low ball again, and say $80 million opening weekend.

To have a little context, here's the box office for the previous films from Box Office Mojo.

The Terminator 10/26/84
Opening: $4,020,663
Domestic: $38,371,200

Terminator 2: Judgment Day 7/3/91
Opening: $31,765,506
Domestic: $204,843,345

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 7/3/03
Opening: $44,041,440
Domestic: $150,371,112

$85 million opening.

$200+ million domestic.

It's definitely gonna be the biggest Terminator film and hopefully one of the best films of the summer, it's just the matter of how much the stupid films opening against it will take away from it.

Ditto this.

Ah shoot. I voted $60-100 mil for its Domestic Box Office. I thought the poll was for Opening Weekend. :csad:

Crap, I did the same thing, thought it was opening weekend box office.

Is there a way someone can remove what you picked on the poll?

I also read the title too fast and clicked on the wrong one.

I only realized my mistake when I saw two people had voted $250 mil+ and I thought, "Who are these idiots?" Then I looked up to the poll's title. :csad:

Wow, for a 1991 release T2 made serious money.

And I was wondering, "Why are people voting so low?" :funny:

obviously 60-100

edit- oops i meant first weekend

We all sound like complete dumb***** in this thread. :funny:

See if a mod can reset the poll since I'm a huge dumb a$$, and I'm not alone in not looking before leaping...

At least change my vote to $200-$250 Million...

Thank God I read all the posts before posting, otherwise I'm sure I would have made the same mistakes. I voted 200-250 million (I think it will be closer to 250 million. I think the movie will do well domestically, but I think it will kill internationally, especially in Asia.

Is the Terminator franchise huge in Asia?

I'd say a 200-220 max for this film, if it doesn't suck or is a disappointment. Maybe even more if it exceeds expectations.

Imo, Star Trek changed the game. It's too perfect of a mainstream summer flick to be outdone by what is essentially a drab, and potentially deeper, war movie.

My prediction for the top 10 summer box office winner, sadly.......

1. T:ROTF

2. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

3. Star Trek - Terminator Salvation -toss up

4. Avatar

5. Up

6. Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian

7. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

8. Angels & Demons - XOW -toss up

9. Land Of The Lost

10. Public Enemies

At first I thought TS was a lock to be huge but now...I don't know. I think that it has a good chance of not even being number one for the weekend. Unless "Night at the Museum" is another Narnia 2 (It works in at the end of the year but not in the summer) it could very well blow TS out of the water.

The last Terminator movie wasn't exactly loved and it grossed 150.4mil, while the first Museum grossed 250.9mil. I wouldn't be surprised at all if TS was number two over the weekend especially when you consider the fact that TS is being released on thursday and NATM 2 is being released on friday. Did I forget to mention how a Terminator series just failed in the ratings?

I'm just iffy on the flick's boxoffice right now but I could see Batman and big robots bringing in people. I also think that this movie has to be better than T3 for people to give a damn after opening weekend.

I honestly dont see Harry Potter being all that, though... But hey, I'm not any kind of fan of it either.
