Thanos Rising

I'd say it's more AWESOME -1 ...it's not NOVA if it's not RIDER

Should be interesting to see someone who's not Jim Starlin tell Thanos' story. Maybe it won't read quite so much like a thirteen-year-old showing off his new toy.

I have no real complaints about Aaron..guys excellent...

But the Starlin "Sitch" at Marvel is unacceptable..I'm really looking forward to checking out his Stormwatch

The real question...what's that green stuff coming up from his mouth.

Cosmic phlegm. Not even Thanos is safe from the flu season.

The fact he is persona non grata now in quesada/alonso marvel

I havent been paying much attention to Marvel recently, way too busy with work. I know Nova and the GOTG tangled with him during the Cancerverse thing so he and a few others got stuck in another timeline. So what happened after that to them, are they still in the cancerverse, Nova, Thanos and whoever else was there?

Yeah they just showed up in Avengers Assembled out of nowhere. Ideally we'll get an explanation in the GotG book.

Is it just me or is Thanos a dumb character...

Yup just you. Read Annihilation and on...Thanos is awesome.

He is. Though I wasn't thrilled about the end of avengers assembled. Actually I was pissed. Yes, he lost. But seeing him get pummeled by groot, then specifically cap, thing, hulk, and vision. I mean, he didn't really physically "loose". But Thanos, at one point, was ignoring blasts from the Silver Surfer. and was able to fight Odin for like 8 or 9 pages. and get up, and continue to fight. Yet, the avengers put him down in 2 pages? What a low showing. I wasn't thrilled about that, never recall Thanos being beatin like that, he looked better against Odin. You guys think it will be retconned into like a clone or something?

The Starlin Thanos ongoing was also excellent

It's hard to call it a Starlin ongoing since he wrote the first 6 issues and Giffen wrote the second 6 issues. It did lead into Annihilation really well though, the second arc anyway.

Your right..completely forgot about that..set up the Kyln (and Quill) stuff..that series is must read..loved it.

I like Thanos anytime Jim Starlin isn't writing him. He should definitely be a step above the Hulk, Thor, the Silver Surfer, et al. The Avengers just collectively beat him into submission in Avengers Assemble? That's kind of silly. Glad I dropped that series a few months ago.

It was a movie money grab that arc (and the book frankly)...at least it was competently drawn
