Marvel December 2009 Solicitations

It's not that it was obvious or anything...because we all know that "Hope" that Cable has been caring for isn't Jean reincarnated or anything. :p

So with the Immortal Weapons mini ending in December, I think it's a safe bet that the next Immortal Iron Fist solicit will be in January showing a relaunch or a new team. Would be a great way to start the new year. :hehe:

Isn't Immortal Weapons ending in November?Either way I'm hoping they do someting great with Iron Fist.

Marvel has already confirmed during Con-Season that they are bringing back Jean Grey.
when was this revealed? All Ive ever heard from them was dance around the question as its always asked. They've even flat out said theyve had no plans for it any time soon. Do you have a link?

Yeah, it does. Even if they are planning a relaunch of Iron Fist I don't know if it'll happen that fast. It took a little while for Moon Knight to get his

Last year and this year Marvel said that they were bringing her back, they're just taking their sweet ol' time with it.

EDIT: Here it is, when asked about Jean Grey they say to keep a watch on a little girl with red hair and green eyes

Also, while she hasn't displayed her powers yet, Stryfe says that she has the same power set that he does (telepathy and telekinesis).

Hah, Cable changed his mother's daipers. :funny:

It's an interesting turn around from the Slim and Red story when they raised him in the future with the Askani.

I wonder how they're going to explain it. I'll be sure to have some advil ready once they do.

Crap like this is why I can never stand more than an issue or two of the X-men comics. Bringing characters back from the dead is complete crap, and at this point I think I can name more that have died and come back than have not died at all. That and all kinds of clones and cross dimensional relatives... just terrible and over complicated.

Didn't they poke fun at the Summer's history a while back when Storm tried to explain their family tree to Cecilia Reyes?

I remember reading that and laughing because she said that the explanation was giving her a headache also. Then Storm says something about "We haven't even gone into their children from different realities, or something like that." :funny:

Throw Rachel's lover... a grown up Franklin Richards who can change reality... and it get's even tougher.

Yeesh!

:ff: :ff: :ff:

Oh X-men, how did this franchise end up in such a mess???

dont forget that Rachel and Franklin also have a kid, Hyperstorm, Scott's alternate reality grandson

Also, Reed's time/dimension-hopping father, who may or may not be Kang/Immortus/Rama-Tut/Scarlet Centurion but is definitely at least an ancestor of him via the many wild oats he sowed in other dimensions and times.

Hyperstorm was cool. Sadly, Cyclops never met him and probably hasn't even heard of him. Some kids just have no luck.

You know, I keep hearing people say things like how they're bringing X-Man back, because no one asked for it! and other stuff about how no one cared if X-Man came back... but I totally don't get this.

I've wanted Nate back for years and I've heard countless others bring it up as well. It's not chanted in every language through the streets of New York or anything, but Nate had a good fanbase. People liked him a lot and I think his return is probably due to his popularity even though it's been so long since he was scattered to the wind.

exactly. it was my favorite book, especially when warren ellis and steven grant took it over and gave him a real purpose when they made him the mutant shaman. i hope they keep that same thing going because before he sacrificed himself he was indeed the most powerful being on the planet. i'm so glad he's back, i hope they don't make him fall into osborn's control, he's way too smart for that after his revamp.

I think it has more to do with yet ANOTHER Summers/Grey coming back into the fold. I think at this point with Cable, Vulcan, Rachel and Hope/Jean Grey, we're just sick of these endless extensions of Cyclops and Jean's family. But hey, lets see if Nate can bring something different to the table....

Indeed. I think that was part of why Grant Morrison went "overboard" with mutants during his run. Beforehand many writers were hesitant to create new characters who weren't attachments of old ones. Because that makes the X-Men and mutants almost inbred.

Instead, we now have 200 mutants in America and X-23, a clone of Wolverine, as the ideal for bold new characters. Bold as in they should simply be details of older ones. You'll notice that many of the more unique New Mutants have faded into obscurity, never to be seen again.

There is too much nostalgia and not enough innovation in American comics. X-Man's return just represents another angle of that.
