The \8/ and the \S/

not EXACTLY, but they might as well be

Yes Excatly [the shape of The S is 100 % excatly the same as The one in RETURNS] The emblem looks excatly the same .

No they don't, the shield is the classic 1, the S had to be changed, the 1 on the classic shield is outdated.

Yes the diamond shape [shield] is from The classic one, But you can't deny the S symbol isn't the same as The one for RETURNS , because it is . Look at the two pics. It's excatly the same .

You guys arguing this here, too?

[cuts and pastes posts from Superworld]

It's not the exact same shield. The SR shield is more flatter overall (width greater than height), and it has rounded sides, most notably at the top...

The SV shield is taller and has flat sides...

Both are raised emblems and have the same tail on the S, but the SR shield has an additional raised line that runs laterally down the body of the letter.

They're NOT the same. Time to move on, yes?

technically, they're almost the same... but they're nto exactly the same. the above post shows a small difference in the shapes that create the "S" in the insignia:

on the SR symbol, the triangle on the top of the largest symbol is much smaller than the oen shown in the Smallville episode...

Also, in the SR symbol, the part of the largest symbol that makes the top curve of the "S" is much skinnier and has a much fuller "S" shape than the smallville counterpart

^ Exactly. There's enough minor differences in both emblems to fulfill the legal requirements in percentage - whatever that amount is - for the two shields to be called "different." Both are still fully trademarked logos of Warners however, and both represent the Superman franchise.

Actually... now that I think about it, I'm surprised folks aren't arguing a whole different thing now since the real deal Superman shield has finally shown up on Smallville. :p

^^^^ Like what's the deal in changing the \8/ to an \S/.

:woot:

:wow: I cant' believe you're gonna go there . . . . .

Has the values, . . . now has the shield . . . only missing the tights, the cape and the "official" name. Adding that to the arsenal are we.

:hyper:

Well the problem with SR was not the \S/ but the size of it on the outfit. Also until I see Welling do the things Routh Superman has done (and his Superman and Clark was good) then I will call say Welling is Superman until then Welling strikes me more as Cain.

^ I don't EVER want to see SV's Clark do some of the things *bleep* did in *bleep*.

<sigh>

So we never want to see Welling save a plane or really show leadership or save the city he loves or fly or for the most part be Superman. Because thats what Superman does.

I aint arguing this any further. You KNOW what I'm referring to, and I'm not going to debate that here. SV's Clark is above that. We can agree to disagree, but that's as far as I go with it. :)

i wouldn't mind seeing Tom do SR stuff, because you know what?
I LIKED SR
that's as far as i'm going with it

You know I was the Legions book when Conner was there and they had this in the book (story is 3yrs old) as for people who believed Superman was some kind of God. They would wear that chain pretty cool.

I felt it was time to leave Sarah behind for a while. :( I was going to use the one with them flying up the Daily Planet wrapped in each others arms but the footage I have for it is too dark because it is bootleg.

anybody decipher the kryptonian black box yet?
