I don't mind miniseries and shorter seasons, but Disney just doesn't know how to make a concept like that work, besides a few exceptions.
My favorite comparison is Stranger Things 4 to Secret Invasion. Stranger Things budget per episode was about 30 million, Secret Invasion's was 35 million per episode. The entire nine episode season of ST lasted for almost thirteen hours. That's fairly meaty. Secret Invasion's six-episode season lasted for four and a half hours. They mismanaged all that money for pretty much nothing. Stranger Things has extensive special effects with fantastical worlds and creatures. Secret Invasion is largely set in warehouses, and there's a weird CGI bicep as the grand finale. No vision, improper planning, reckless reshoots, and mistreatment of special effects houses. At the end of the day, the main product of Disney Plus is these stretched-out movies, and we're dealing with it once again with The Acolyte, to my great disappointment.
