Yeah, you don’t see many critics saying that when they’re reviewing films like The Godfather. It’s almost like they have an in-built superiority complex when it comes to what they view as an inherently inferior genre and want to limit the maximum attainable level that films within it can reach. Also, I'm a bit worried (not for Aquaman movie) that Critics constantly refer to comic book movies not taking itself "too seriously" as a desirable attribute. I mean cbm's should be allowed to be whatever they want to be, depending on the story they want to tell, whether it's an adventure-fantasy or a noir crime thriller or or a kids movie.
I wonder how those Critics (who prefer cbm's to be goofy and fun) will react to Joker movie and 'R' - rated Birds of Prey movie.
Bigger sure, but it could be difficult to be more weird (not that that's a bad thing). And Ragnarok's neverending comedy suggest it wasn't aiming to be paricularly like LotR. I don't think the bleak tone for DC films was the problem either.Few things:. 1, this is bigger and weirder than Ragnarok easily. Unlike Ragnarok this has dark and horror elements. And Ragnarok wishes it was compared to LotR 2. The bleak tone was never a problem in DC. Giving the franchise to a bad director was
The number of people doing a boycott like this will be too small to worry about.I think everyone is out for blood with Aquaman.
I don't like it being compared to Marvel, but its just comparison, nothing to lose sleep over. But there is group of people (minority, please) is pretending to boycott Aquaman for that, and the fact that James Wan is retweeting some of those tweets about Marvel likeness, which really aggravated those people haha.
This may be unpopular opinion but I miss Phase-1 Marvel movies in MCU.When Ragnarok's reactions came out, most of them were saying "funniest Marvel movie ever!!" Which gave you a clear indication of the tone. Im not seeing thr word "funny" being used here but "cheese." Theres a difference.

More likely to be grounded at the time of the film’s release too. Also these 'people' likely don't have the income, clean clothes or parents' permission to actually go to the movies in the first place so....
Early, but great to hear"This is from “The Wraps” article about early reactions to Aquaman.
“Official tracking estimates for “Aquaman” are not due until this Thursday, but analysts who spoke with TheWrap say the film is likely to give the domestic box office its first $100 million-plus opening since “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” way back in June.”
Which films do you like most from Phase 1? For me phase 3 is the best.BTW, does anyone here agree that the current thread has become too loong ? and it's time to close this thread and move on to Part-7.
I knew it would be during my work hours or I definitely would have gone. Can’t they do this on a weekend for once? Those that live in London, get over there!
