The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

I was so surprised by Courtney in SS. He was the highlight for me after Robbie.

Apparently the villain will be around Barry's age and they are casting him right now

Have to say, if he's making it up it's a very safe bet:

a male villain means almost all of the Flash's enemies
around the same age leaves a lot of leway
cherry on top is saying that it might not be the main villain, just in case the big bad is female or old.

Since DC is really embracing the zany and all out crazy with Aquaman and Wonder Woman 84, I really want to see Gorilla Grodd as the main villain in a Flash film!

Lol all that tease for the info re Flash shooting at WB soundstage

Sad

Are we sure that’s what he was teasing?
Didn’t he tease something last week about casting news coming soon?
I think that’s still what he’s talking about.

I’d absolutely love to see Gorrila Grodd. :atp:

We will see, would be funny if grace Randolph breaks it before them again lol

You know, the blue lightning didn’t bother me in JL and I actually defended it.
I definitely want it to be yellow this time around though :woot:

The change doesn’t need to be explained

Just do it

I don’t care who breaks it

I just want some actual news :hmr:

I'd like to see Grodd, or Mirror Master (provided it's McCulloch).

As was I. I enjoyed his character in Spartacus, but every film I've seen him in since then (up until Suicide Squad) his performance has been mediocre at best; his portrayal in SS was quite welcome!

It'll be a Rogue then I guess. Can't imagine Grodd would be cast as someone similar in age to Barry, and I'd have thought Thawne would be portrayed by someone with a few more years behind them (simply because I can't imagine a young Eobard being that daunting of a threat).

Wasn't there a rumour going around that Dr Light would be the main villain?

Flash Standalone Movie Pushes Start Date, Eyes 2021 Release (EXCLUSIVE)

However, a script is still being tweaked and the studio thinks that it won’t enough time to get the script in shape in order for the film to make its original start date.

That’s a problem, because Ezra Miller, the live-wire performer tasked with playing the Flash, also has a key supporting role in “Fantastic Beasts,” the “Harry Potter” spin-off series. The third film in the franchise begins shooting in July, which would cause scheduling headaches. The standalone Flash film is now expected to commence production in late 2019. That likely means the superhero adventure won’t debut in theaters until some time in 2021.

So production is pushed back a bit, but really, the reason makes sense: Ezra Miller's already committed to the third Fantastic Beasts film next summer, so Flash filming before or around that time could possibly conflict with things. The film will get here when it gets here. There's Aquaman, Shazam!, Joker, and Wonder Woman 1984 in the meantime.

Keep delaying it, I don't really care! Ezra Miller was just awful as The Flash. His attempt to make Flash feel real honestly just felt like him incorporating his own personality into the character. His Barry had a bunch of annoying tics that were (I presume) intended to make the character feel real, but it resulted in a really obnoxious and annoying portrayal that felt like the director(s) just told Ezra to run wild with the material. Unless he can reel in his performance and ignore his awful instincts regarding the character, then I don't really want this movie to happen. Grant Gustin is already killing it on the small screen, and to be honest, I'm satisfied with that Flash being my Flash. A bigger budget is literally the only upside to this movie.

It's concerning because Ezra apparently knows the source material well. I'm surprised he showed such a lack of respect for the status quo in his misguided-as-f*** interpretation of Barry Allen.

I'm honestly still a fan of Ezra Miller as an actor, he just royally screwed up one of my favorite characters. It's not like I hate the guy or anything, I just think he was very miscast, and it's a shame they're moving forward with his version of the character when Jared Leto is being replaced. Ezra, Leto, and Eisenberg have all got to go ASAP.

I'd be much more hyped for this if they recast.

Yeah because he's the obvious villain option for the first ever Flash movie. /s

Hopefully that was rectified and the villain is someone more deserving like Grodd, Reverse Flash, or the Rogues.
