Maybe it was a flash sale.
Happy Independence Day, Guest!
I've seen it three times now. There is no way it deserved the reception it got. It was a fun movie with some great performances. One of my favourites of the DCEU. 7.5/10I’m about the flush my credibility down the toilet, but I watched this movie again today and still really enjoyed it.
CGI gripes aside, it was fun, action-packed, and funny.
I really think the over reliance on CGI was apparent, and probably alienated more people from the movie than otherwise would have happened had the mediocre CGI been limited to the third act.
This was one of the more enjoyable DCEU movies for me, and I think if I did a ranking it would rank pretty high.
Agreed, Ezra Miller is a disgusting person in real life, the CGI is absolutely cheeks. Yet the movie was ridiculously entertaining had some absolutely amazing heart to it. Michael Keaton comes back at seven years old and knocks it out of the park and visibly out performs Midfleck at the same character. Somehow the 5’9 70 year old looks and feels way more threatening than the 6’3 50 something year old as the same character. And hilariously, Ezra Miller gives the best performance of any of these superhero movie castings from the Snyderverse. I honestly feel it’s tied for second best film in the DCU after man of steel and right along side wonder womanI've seen it three times now. There is no way it deserved the reception it got. I will die on that hill.Rewatched this movie yesterday for the first time since it was in the theaters. Still think it's a pretty good movie afterall, even if it has its problems.
I enjoy the movie but have actually fell asleep both times watching it. Keaton and Called are absolutely the highlights for me.
The way I see it, I found The Flash no worse than the average superhero movie. It felt completely within the norm to me.
Now, what does each one think of this norm...
It's hard for me to say about Calle: she hasn't done anything wrong, but she also only has like five lines in the movie and appears most of the time in semi-digital doubles, so...
Keaton on the other hand was perfect, but you could also feel how much this film was written to work with any Batman in his role...
Missed opportunity to really revisit THIS character.
Maybe I've said this before, but I sincerely believe this film would have had a much better critical reception (especially from fans) if it had been animated. Certain scenes and visual ideas would have been less tacky (the baby scene, the sort of fresco-clock thing or whatever it's called) and there would have been no tiresome Miller (although I'll give him credit for a few more composed and convincing sentimental scenes).
