I was wondering too if anyone picked up a 3D copy, I don't have a 3DTV at home but those effects were very well done in the theatre, it added to the spectacle and I kind of think it'd be a lesser movie without it. Which is weird because even though this movie was not filmed in 3D and the first movie was, the effect was better here.

I agree.

I was stoked to see some of the scenes they showed in the trailers in 3D, such as Spidey dropping into NYC in the beginning of the film. I loved the whole first-person point of view and the slow motion was great as well.

This movie is the only reason I want a 3D TV right now.

Yeah asm1 didn't look that good the 3d. This one when I saw it in theateres I was blow away at how good the 3d looked. It is one of the best looking 3d movies I have seen in theaters. I got the 3d but I don't have a 3d tv yet. I will probly get a new tv in a few years. I am hoping that by then that you will beable to get a good 50-55 inch 4k 3dtv for around 1000. The cool thing is the blu ray player I have can acctruly play reaguler dvds and blu rays in 3d. I don't know how good it looks though compared to a movie that is acctruly 3d.

^^And 4K TV's are coming down for sure. Went to bestbuy this weekend and had nice conversation with the Sony Rep about the 4K TV's and I'll definitely get one. Was trying to stay to see clips from ASM2, but I had to leave.

Granted I work in a grocery story and we don't get a lot of copys of a dvd but we had the movie for like 4 days before I saw 1 person buy the movie. Are there any news about how many cops the dvd has sold so far?

The closet best buy to me is like 25 minutes form my house. Friday when I go to a collage age group I started going to I am going to stop by best buy and I hope that they will have it on a 4k tv has I want to see what it looks like. I was surprised when I first saw 4k tvs a few month ago at how good it looks so I want to see what this movie looks like on 4k has it already looks really good on my tv and my tv is only a 720p unscaled 1080p tv.

I also wonder how GotG will do in comparison, whenever its released on DVD. It'll probably be coming out around the holiday season? That could certainly boost its sales.

Exactly.

I think a major factor that's being overlooked is some of the other films that were released around the same time. I know a film should do good regardless if it truly is one worth watching, but it comes into play.

Additionally, you have the trailers that gave away so much.

I honestly believe if they had thought about a better time to release the film, and didn't give so many spoilers, we would see at least slightly better numbers.

Nonetheless, I'm glad the DVD is holding up well for now.

I'm not neccesarily saying it deserved a higher BO.

Just that the image of this barren wasteland where nobody cares enough to buy TASM2 on DVD is just plain false. People like to paint it as this apocalyptic situation where NOBODY bought it, and then boom #1 on the charts.

Some good news for Sony, and it puts to bed the "nobody cares" angle, and somewhat hurts the arguement that the series is dead.

Not too bad for the worst CBM ever regardless!
