Bottom line is guardians ain't doing ***** to spideys box office
actually guardians have been around since 1969 but not this team, this team is the 2008 version, but it's still very unknown
It's even more unknown than iron man was when the iron man movie came out (But Iron man or Cap or Thor weren't that unknown anyways)
Yeah iron man cap or thor where and are less popular then spidy but have had some good movies now and even before that where more know then guardins.
We are mainly talking about the States for disappointing returns as overseas the numbers are decent. America has been losing interest in Spider-Man for years.
I think Sony realised this a long time ago hence the early overseas releases.
I think in Europe and Asia we like seeing Spidey over and over again but Stateside I think people are tired of the character and I don't see that trend changing any time soon.
I think this movie makes 700m WW and when all is said and done things could be a lot worse. 700m is decent number but compared with what Spidey used to do that is disappointing. I don't see how Sony proceed as rebooting is out of the question as is shelving the character for a few years. The best short term solution I can think of is throwing money at an A list director, writer and cinematograher.
Aww but i loved The Amazing spiderman 2

Yeah interims of ticket sales in the usa it has went down like 66% in the usa form sm1 that is a lot and out side probly like 24-28% so in usa it is a lot worse but I really think all it needs is a good spider man movie. Its not that they are tried of the character it is that they are tried of seing bad movies and americans have higher standers that is why movie cretis in usa give movies worse reviews. If the next spider man movie had a really good or great story and action and music you would see a increase even if not big in spider man.
The USA has higher standards for movies? I'm not touching 'that' hot potato.
So you don't know what the Hunger Games is? It is kind of a big deal. You cant underisitmat inisterl has it is noal and inception made like 850 coming off dark knight. I don't how to train your drangion will make more then any other movie this year at least not world wide. I think that we be ether transformers or hobbit. I havnt heard of Mockingjay Part 1.

I think different parts of the world may have different tastes or trends which I find interesting. I don't think it has anything to do with 'higher standards'.I think in Europe and Asia we like seeing Spidey over and over again but Stateside I think people are tired of the character and I don't see that trend changing any time soon.
Well, considering that TASM2 will make 20 millions more than TASM's overseas gross and that China alone added 32 millions so far I don't know how you can come to the conclusion that Europe and Asia generally like seeing Spider-Man over and over again while the movie is declining from its predecessor on most markets. If it wasn't for China TASM2 would be showing a decline overseas too.
TASM2 gross will be roughly 4% ahead of TASM on foreign markets. International Box Office was up 11,6% in the past 2 years and is expected to display an even bigger growth this year (compared to 2012).
despite some people freaking out, TASM2 is nowhere near a finacial disaster. This movie will not be concidered a failure by Sony

Would you care to elaborate ?

elaborate about what? if this movie is getting more money world wide than TASM1, it's not gonna be concidered a failure regardless of American box office results. Sometimes the balance gets tipped, doesn't mean that Spider-man's popularity in US is doomed
