Me too....I'm ready to move on to whatever is next.
I'm never going to be ready, lol... I'll probably be sitting here complaining 10 years from now about how much I miss Garfield as Spidey.

Really though, I'm just holding onto whatever tiny web-strand of hope there is left that Sony moves forward with TASM3. :woot:

At least we got 2 movies with Garfield though. I think it would hurt him more if he was in more bad Spider-Man movies. Better end it now before he and the TASM series are given even more baggage to deal with.

That's true, I guess. Better that than nothing. It's not like they can take those movies away from me or anything, I can still watch them whenever I want. But still. :csad:

There's always the chance that Thor meets Spidey in 2018 because they use Hemsworth in the TASM 3 movie? That's part of the leaked proposed deal, that Sony would be able to use two of Marvel's characters. In that way, Garfield would probably reprise the role... Or have a chance to anyways. This way would please everyone here, IMO. Nobody really wants Garfield gone, I think most people just want Spidey in the MCU. It's a solid compromise, and Garfield would get to finally be in the Avengers.

Avi Arad is 66 years old... is this guy going to retire anytime soon or...?

I'm sorry, but I want to see a completely new Spider-Man in the MCU.
This is the first time I've ever disagreed with you lol.

I want Garfield gone. He's a super talented dude but I don't care for his version of the character and I don't want an MCU Spider-Man connected to the Amazing films.

If the TASM films were gold, I would be greatly upset if they rebooted. I liked the first movie, but the second film was terrible, and I think the series overall is kind of garbage. TASM2 was unforgivable.

Marvel would never agree to that version of the deal; benefits Sony more than Marvel. And even though it'd be a collaborative effort, Sony would still have final say over everything that happens with Spidey.

I'm fine with his version of the character but this whole "KEEP ANDREW" thing is getting obnoxious. People would actually prefer to see more crappy films with Sony just to keep Andrew as opposed to seeing Spidey in the MCU. Sounds like a bunch of Garfield fanboys and not people who really care about Spidey.

Or maybe, just maybe... some people don't think the films have been crappy? :wow: Crazy that people could have different opinions, huh?

I've been a Spidey fan for most of my life, but Andrew Garfield brought the character to life perfectly and I legitimately love both Amazing Spider-Man films. I'm just not interested in yet another reboot when they already have the best choice available.

Sorry if my tone in that post made me come off as a bit of a dick, I just don't like being accused of not being a "true fan" of the character just because of my own opinions on the movies. :oldrazz:

I'd happily see you dissapointed thoroughly to see Spider-Man in the MCU, completely rebooted.

I loved both ASM films but you must realize that the only way Marvel is going to take Spider-Man is if they have full creative control over him and intergrating some lukewarm films in the MCU doesn't cut it for them.

It's all well and good to have an opinion but you have to realise you're in the extreme minority wanting the TASM series to continue. Have you actually read Sony's plan for the Sinister Six? Gwen Carnage? Female Venom? Scorpia? Comic relief sandman? S6 laughs at spidey's black suit so he gets upset and throws it away but then TEAMS UP with the sinister six to take down venom and carnage?

You'd have to love Andrew Garfield more than the character to want the above to happen,

What part of bringing back Gwen as Carnage, making Aunt May a spy, throwing female Venom into a girl power team film, and Peter ditching the black suit because he gets teased makes anyone think continuing the continuity of TASM is a good idea? I could understand if the leak hadn't happened, but it did and we know we were in for some terrible films

For now, have Spider-Man show up in the occasional MCU film and team up with the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. in an attempt to bring down Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II. I'd include a post-credits scene in Part II where Spider-Man finds the symbiote which would set up his own solo film the following year...

Spider-Man: The Alien Costume (2020)

Scorpion as the main villain with a subplot involving Sin Eater. Scorpion goes rogue after he learns that his powers are killing him and there's currently no cure which causes him to seek revenge on Kingpin who Gargan claims tricked him. Brock names an innocent man as the identity of Sin Eater, but gets fired after his story is proven wrong by Spider-Man who almost kills the real Sin Eater in a fit of rage. Post-credits scene shows Brock become bonded to the symbiote in a church.

This 100%

I was firmly in the "keep TASM" camp for MONTHS after TASM2 came out. You can look back to July-ish and see me and Joker arguing constantly about whether sony actually wanted to make a good film and were generally incompetent and now we now that Joker was indeed right, Sony have absolutely NO IDEA what to do with the franchise and are just frankly at this point looking at which option is most likely to drag audiences back to the theatres.

There's no scenario here where a spider-man franchise under Sony can outdo a Marvel Spider-Man film.

The best chance for Spider-Man films is to be added to the MCU and that trancends any affection I have for the current series.

That's the thing though, if that's the case then I don't want Marvel to take Spider-Man at all. Not that I really did anyways, I loved him being off in his own universe.

Wait wait wait. What the hell did I miss? This was in the emails? And not just more stupid rumors that everyone ate up? Maybe I didn't read them after all....... :wow:

Hmmm....I don't have a problem Andrew casting, and wouldn't mind if he continued his role in a shared universe. I certainly don't subscribe to the notion that if shared rights occur, dump Andrew because it will tie Sony Spidey to Marvel. That is asinine, IMHuO, if we are talking about shared rights. If Marvel got back full rights, then yes I agree...totally recast Peter/Spidey.

I liking it to Bale's Batman to Afleck BvS...I wish Bale could reprise the role; but, I understand they want a less darker Batman, that is not associated to Nolan's version, so Bale is out. Personally, I think Bale Batman would be a nice contrast to Superman; and, the dynamic that present itself when choosing sides. So here's hoping we still get it, cause I feel it may be contrived.

Anyway, the point for me is, "IF" I had to choose between retaining Andrew or shared rights with Marvel, then I'm sorry guys...I would be singing, "Hit the road Drew, and don't you come back, no more, no more, no more, no more." I totally agree with those that's say why sacrifice, simply a good(at this point) Spidey flick, for an actor who is certainly not beyond being replaced. I don't understand that line of thinking regardless if you feel the "Amazing" films was good, great, or not.
