I don't think franchise fatigue has anything to do with it. James Bond has over 23 films and people seem to love the franchise a lot after 50 years of movies. If TASM1 didn't re-tell the origin and TASM2 wasn't a failure of a movie, I think people would genuinely care for this franchise and continue loving it.
Now I do agree that people would love Spidey even more if he was part of the MCU and not a loner. But I don't think this has anything to do with franchise fatigue. The two TASM movies, especially TASM2, were not very good movies for most audiences.
