Does anyone know what the hell is happening with this franchise? And I include Sony in that.

Probably, but it's being kept quiet for now. We won't know anything for a while I'd assume, at least until May / June time, possibly even SDCC.

What is happening right now!?!?!?!

DeHaan is "feeling sinister", Harry and Spider-man are both now gay, and who knows what else? I wanted news, but not like this! Someone, please, make it stop!

:wall:

Little rascals! Apox on them! :o

All jokes aside, the sad part is that Sony is so hopelessly confused, I actually believed that could be something they would do... :wow:

That's a long time to wait for even a bit of news, I can't see the Marvel deal happening.

Yea they're completely clueless, the emails gave us some insight on that. Nothing is too low for a sony move.

I like the Mayday idea, but I think that's what Sony should do if they make the deal with Marvel. It would be more bankable than any of their spinoff ideas and less likely to interfere with Marvel's plans. The only thing that would have to go is Peter in costume.

I think they'd be better off not setting it in any particular 'verse. It gives them the freedom to cast Tobey, Andrew, or someone brand new to play Peter. And since Peter's only a supporting character, they won't have to go into detail in his backstory.

It's certainly in Marvel's interest not to let a possible deal overshadow Age of Ultron. I doubt they would have announced all of phase 3 if it weren't for DC's move.

I think they're talking about what Andrew Garfield suggested a while ago, which was,
"Why isn't there a gay version of Spider-Man?"

I'm not sure, though.

I wouldn't be opposed to a gay Spider-Man, just not Peter Parker.

Or maybe make a new version of Peter.

Are you referring to the original, horrible photoshop job done for the poster?

My favourite part about the poster is how they've just copied and pasted the same robots again and again in the background with no variation at all.

No, it's the idea of Spidey being in The Avengers. Being in the MCU? That's fine... but joining the Avengers? Uuuuuuugh.

Although, that poster is horrendous.

I know what you mean. It seems as though a lot of people are just pushing for Spidey to just appear alongside their favourites (Iron Man, Hulk etc.) with no care for his own adventures or stories. Is that the reason behind your reaction? :p

Pretty much. :oldrazz:

If Spidey's gonna team up with anybody, it should be Daredevil imo.

I'd like Spidey in an Avengers flick, but I'm more excited to see what Marvel would do with his own central cast of characters, e.g. villains, love interests.

Exactly, we're not THAT selfish. We of course want to see him appear in AOU or CW. Not because we necessarily want Spidey fighting next to Iron Man but the implications of what it would mean. Marvel would handle a solo Spidey film and all his supporting characters perfectly.

I LOVE your sig, Demetri Martin rocks. Cool guy in person too, met him after two shows. Yeah, Marvel would kill it. Imagine what they would do with someone like Mysterio.
