It's very likely TASM3 will be either him vs the sinister 6 or him, venom and black cat vs the sinister 6
I think it'll be setting up the Sinister Six in the S6 film, obviously, with sporadic appearances of Spider-Man. And then the big showdown finale in TASM3.

I kinda have that feeling too
I'm definately not saying it's set in stone or anything but I wouldn't be surprised if he and Sony parted ways. If my feelings are wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last.

We'll see. As much as I really love Webb and want to see another movie from him I wouldn't mind him getting replaced by drew Goddard

For someone who was billed as an architect of the universe before ASM2's release, his name has been noticeably absent from recent official statements.

Has there been stuff released that I don't know about? Otherwise from what I know very little has been said about TASM3, infact I couldn't tell you anything that's been said off the top of my head

Problem with this sorta wild speculation is that there is no information to go by and some even speculated oh they may be recasting Garfield... But Given his recent comments I'd say that's not the case, and if you can give some official statement where Garfield is mentioned but Marc Webb isn't that would be interesting to read, otherwise there is still 4 years to find out give or take

Don't get me wrong he could be out as director but there is very little to go on right now

Well people cared about raimi so it's good people don't ridicule Webb and also because its mostly Sony doing all the wreckage. I feel sorry for marc Webb since he did try and want to make a great series

Well yeah he's a yes man but I think he deserved some roughness from fans and audiences just to man him up. I can't see him get ridiculed and I really love his ideas except for max dillon and Kafka. Though I think that could be some mental patient who is half sane and fell for the real Kafka

You know who else was a yes man and also had ideas in his films but was cut thanks to the studio?

Oh my goodness Levi, shut the hell up. If Sony makes the movie either sinister six orTASM 3 any worse they'll be ruined for life And the rights go back to marvel

There are many yes men directors, the demands good or bad usually depend on the producers and studio though

Webb is a yes man, but he could have made Sony's suggestions work.

Let's just face it, guys... Webb isn't that good at making Spider-Man movies. The blame is shared.

Sony is already ruined. Their company as a whole is going downhill. The most popular character they own was less profitable then 22 Jump Street.

Sony is grasping at straws and is in panic mode. It's why we have so many Spidey spin offs and a Spidey universe. It's why they are rebooting so many movies. It's why Ghostbusters is getting rebooted and may be a cinematic universe.

Sony is scared. Hell even their video game films department is a mess. They are hoping Marky Mark does Uncharted which shows they want star power. They got Avi to produce a Metal Gear Solid film with David S Goyer writing the script. They are trying to get a Last of Us movie out which is stupid considering it came out last year and seems to quick to just put it out. And God of War is MIA.

Hell their Smurfs 2 underperforming considering it cost 5 million less to make and made about 120 million less then their first film.

Sony is failing hard. Only hope they have is the Bond films.

And don't tell me what to do.

Sony? There goes Levi with his conspiracy theories.

I wonder where's Batman.

I think he did great with TASM, if it wasn't for some of the script or scene cuts i think it would have been almost perfect

Sony wanted a lighter fun movie and that's what they got, for some reason the problem with the first was it was to dark, which I was abit of fan misdirection personally

With what's going on if they meddle with the sinister six it'll be a very quick death.

Mark is a great actor but a miscast. Also uncharted and last of us is already a movie so I see no point in adapting one and I see uncharted succeeding while last of us proves to be meh. Heck it's also a mistake to hire sam raimi as a producer not because he's a light hearted creator but because he's a bad producer.

Mark is a good actor but there's a difference when casting for the actor or his star power. Transformers 4 would have still been made without Mark's involvement. Uncharted likely won't be made without Mark.

I know. The world for the last movie was the right world for starting something new, fresh, grounded, and have that sci fi feel to it. It would've been great to set up that kind of universe especially a universe that feels like something out of a josh trank creation. But instead we're back with the whole comic booky feel which isn't bad but there was nothing wrong with the tone of the last film. I think people just overreacted way too much on the whole dark knight vibe thing.

If S6 is a success Goddard should direct female spin-off, Venom and TASM3. Orci and Webb can just gtfo muh Spider-man movies.

I hope there is a recast for Nathan drake because mark is not the best choice. I'd go with nathon fillion

Orci is out of the spiderman franchise. But if Goddard's six does succeed I hope he does handle the spiderman franchise. However I don't see him doing a black cat film. It's funny that whenever I had the female spin-off in my head I think of David Fincher which probably has to do with the girl with the dragon tattoo.

I don't know, did you read the Sony press release where ASM3 was the only film mentioned that didn't have a director's name attached to it?

Otherwise from what I know very little has been said about TASM3, infact I couldn't tell you anything that's been said off the top of my head
But we've heard quite a bit about the spinoffs, and nothing post delay from Webb. Strange that we haven't heard from the architect of the universe.

Problem with this sorta wild speculation...
I'm going to cut you off here because neither I nor I SEE SPIDEY said anything about Garfield. I've got to give you credit for the impressive use of the Chewbacca Defense.

Maybe you should read my post again. I made an observation which supports speculation. It's hardly wild speculation that a director of a franchise might be replaced after a disappointing performance. His silence in regard to the current planned future of the franchise adds fuel to the fire.

Why? He co-produced Alias and was a writer for both Buffy and Alias.
