Sony pictures are in so much mud

Now they've breached copyright on a song used in the interview and could get fined about 11 million dollars. That could go up in the civil case though.

This is compounded with all their other problems, no doubt sony are sinking here, there's never been a better time for Disney to straight up buy the rights to Spider-Man

Lol, that movie is riddled with problems. Looks like it's doomed from the start. How, after all the controversy etc, they forgot to clear the copyright?

If Disney fully got Spidey back. They should go 2 fox. Tell fox they want fox's remaining Star Wars rights, Fantastic Four & X-Men in one package. Give fox a blank check & anything fox would want. Would be worth it for all of that. Disney would make anything they give fox back easily. With The Avengers & Star Wars alone & extra

It had an 100 million dollar budget and they've made MAX around 6 million at this stage.

Add in fines and stuff, they'll struggle to break even whenever it has a full release

HobGoblin is one of my favorite Spider-Man villains. Would love to see him on the big screen down the road.

Fox's X-Men movies are better than MCU's movies (IMHO) so I don't want to see Marvel get their hands on the X-Men. FF however...

While Fox has made some excellent X-men movies, they have made some crappy ones as well X-Men 3 and Wolverine Origin's. That is not to suggest that Marvel hasn't also had a few less then perfect movies such as Iron Man 2. Overall I prefer what Marvel Studio's is doing with their universe more then what Fox is doing with X-Men, but if one of the rights needed to remain in the hands of a studio I would definitely choose X-men to stay where it is at. However, I think people saying that X-Men wouldn't be better off at Marvel don't know it wouldn't be better off, they just think they like what they are currently getting. However, this is not to suggest that if the rights reverted back to Marvel that they might not even make it into something more fantastic. There is no way for any of us to know for sure, as there is currently no way to compare.

No plot details about asm3 but you have to remember both sinister six and female spin offs where supposed to come out before asm3 so they should be farther alone with the movies then asm3 if they still make those movies that is. I am pretty sure that sinister six was supposed to introuduce more villains and then asm3 was supposed to be spider man then fighting the 6 villains. That is why I don't get why people are asking for kraven or mysterio in asm3 has a solo villain.. Wouldn't that have to be has part of the 6 or in asm4?

If I look at it from their shoes, I find that even less likely. Say you're the head of Sony. Your company is in deep ****, losing face in every way possible. Your animation department's in the dust, nowhere near the level of others. You're also in dire need of franchises, to the point where you're merging them together (Jump Street/Men in Black) to revitalize what you can. Would you really let Spider-Man slip away?

If on top of their current crisis they allow themselves to lose the character, that's a major eff up right there, I'd say. They'll probably bend over backwards to avoid adding that failure to their list.

It's not a matter of letting Spider-man slip away. It's a matter of having Marvel help you make better Spider-Man movies (given their track record) with less risk (being co-produce) for a percentage of more money than if you made the films on your own.

It doesn't matter what the potential is, what matters is the reality of the situation.

For example, if you had a classic Lamborghini that was worth a zillion dollars for whatever reason, but you were straight up broke and didn't even know how you gonna pay for your house your food, etc, then that Lamborghin is gonna go and it's not gonna matter how much it's worth.

Your immediate need is more important and if you wait too long you're simply going to lose it anyway. It's not like simply holding the rights to Spiderman is getting them automatic money like a savings account, they have to invest something into it to get something out of it, and right now they're proving they don't know how to make a good Spiderman product.
