Totally! I remember the days when everyone was saying TASM was suppose to be the Gwen trilogy, and Norman was going to be bulit up over the course of the three films.. ah, I miss those days..

We thought Norman would be the one pulling Electro's strings.

Had they just let Webb do what he wants (over three films, mind you), we would've gotten a better second outing and a final film for wrap everything up.

I just tear up thinking about it... what could've been. :(
Sony just had to shoehorn GG in TASM2, when he clearly should have been the finale villain for TASM3

The main sadness, for me anyway, is that a Sinister Six film could work had the character's been developed in previous films and if Spider-Man was featured.

Randomly doing a S6 film in hopes of making Avengers money is a pretty dumb decision.

I'm sorry dude, but I disagree with this. Although I don't support doing the film, it can work, and it can work w/o having characters developed in previous films or Spidey being feature. I know it's cliché; but, it is truly about the writing, approach, and direction moving forward.

I completely agree with the underlined statement...that, once again, show the lack of creativity & planning, and is simply motivated by money & following the lead of others...which is my primary reason why I hope the rights goes back to Marvel....cause they seem to be just trying to copy their success any way....may as well just let Marvel do it.

I had a dream yesterday that Sony had cancelled the Sinister Six, but split the Amazing Spider Man 3 into 2 films (Part 1 and Part 2)

So many people always have dreams about upcoming movies.

Just sayin' :o:oldrazz:

Glad to hear the news, maybe it was that fan petition that influenced the move. Glad to know Garfield's back, nearly took a heart attack with Logan Lerman rumours, Jesus Marvel!

Surprised how people believe rumours lol

What villain would you guys like to see? I want Kraven and Mysterio!

I'm praying that the casting call is legit, I need ASM 3. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. At least I have a little hope now. :yay:

All TASM fans are coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden?

Illuminati all along? :0

As a member of the Illuminati, I can confirm that it was in fact OUR doing. We placed that casting call simply because we wanted to see the effect it would have among the fanbase. We have been monitoring SHH, SWH, and the Crawlspace to find out how different sub-sections of the Spider-Man fanbase would react to this news.

I remember when someone came across a casting call for season 3 of Legend of the Seeker. We thought our fan campaign had succeeded.:csad:

Nothing is confirmed yet.
Besides the casting call dates all the way back to Nov 20th (before the Sony hack).

Also worth nothing that outside of the Lee/Ditko run, for me, Spectacular Spider-Man was 'THE' best interpretation of Spider-Man in any medium. Who made that animated series? Sony.

I wont mention who is making the current animated abomination that is USM.

Spectacular Spider-Man was done by Sony's animation division which has nothing to do with the producers of the Sony live-action Spider-Man movies. And Marvel Studios is separate from their animation division. So you CANNOT equate this when judging if Spidey should be retained by Sony or given over to Marvel's control.

Sorry, bear with me as I'm trying to catch up on all these pages since I left. So far it looks like a lot of talk for non news...

Yes: the writing, approach, and direction are key things that can make a good movie (and can make ANY movie work in that regard), but randomly shoehorning more characters in films for the sake of saying, "Here's your S6 team!" is pretty damn weak to me.

We had Lizard, but Connors regrets everything he did to Peter, so he wouldn't be with them.

We had Electro, which could work considering all it takes is simple manipulation/motivation for him, so there's a potential choice.

We had Green Goblin, which is a given since he'd be their leader.

Aside from that, the only thing we were given to "other" characters that could potentially be in S6 were Ock's tentacles and Vulture's wings, that's it.

That's one potential character and one obvious character already established, and four remaining that would need to be developed/established in some capacity.

I guess you could use S6 as an origin for the villains, but what would they do? What would be their motivation (aside from Spider-Man)?

The whole concept to a S6 film (without Spider-Man and without pre-established/developed villains to use) just seems silly, IMO.

So... does this mean they are scrapping plans for SS in favor of TASM3? :hmm

OK, after finishing up the previous thread and now 10 pages into the new one, there really isn't anything new, aside from the fact spider-neil has seemed to forget all the leaks of the horrible ideas Sony had for continuing the ASM series. (PS: I wouldn't hold my breath thinking Sony can come up with TDK with Spider-Man)

Bottom line, for me, I want nothing less than Spidey being rebooted into the MCU with Marvel Studios in creative control of the solo movies (they can still be co-produced and distributed by Sony). If Sony decides to go it alone, I'm out. I gave them a chance with ASM and ASM2. Let someone who has proven they know how to handle Marvel properties handle Spidey.

The only way I see it working is if they split it into two parts. Unless they just retcon what Harry said about putting a team together.

what ideas? I have read about the leaks, but not about the ideas for the ASM continuation
