Let someone who has proven they know how to handle Marvel properties handle Spidey.
I think I'm the only person who prefers both ASM 1 & 2 over every single movie Marvel has put out, lol.

Yeah, it really doesn't look real. Amazing spider-man 2 had all the potential to be character driven. If harry had been more of the focus, his desperation could have led to him initiating a spider slayer program to get peter’s blood. Harry had a better reason to go after spider-man than electro...

:up::up::up:

Said this a year ago when Foxx reveal Max anger at his mother thing as one of the many stupid reasons his motivation to go after Spidey.

Remember the days where there were only supposed to be three TASM films? Additionally, it was heavily implied that Gwen would die in the final film.

Oh, and Electro was considered 'God-like' by Webb and it seemed like he would be the only villain in the sequel.

Ah yes, those were the days where it seemed TASM was going on a simple path before Sony became cocky. :(
Wasn't the Man in the Shadows also supposed to be Electro, in the sequel, but they changed him into Mr. Fiers ?

That was what marc said but personally I think he was only in the shadows because sony wanted to decide later who he was, which is the problem with sony

TASM2 sucks ass. Every single spidey fan in the world shouldn't like it. Why? Because the ****ing critics didn't. The box office sucked. And it isn't made by Marvel.

And Andrew Garfield....dont get me started. The guy's a jerk. His Peter Parker was supposed to be mopey, under confident, and at most 5 foot 6. Also, his Spidey costume was horrendous because it was copied by the Raimi series and the ****ing spidey logo was improperly placed.

From now on, let's just boycott the TASM movies. We should demand our money back for the horrendous filth made by Webb and co.

I'm with agreement here, mostly due to my own biasness as a Spider-Man fan. :oldrazz:

However, I wouldn't say every single for movie, but over films like IM2 and T:TDW? Big time.

Sounds like a plan

This sounds like a joke so I will take it as one

:funny:

You left out some complaints from TASM, as well.

"His suit looks terrible! He looks like a basketball!"
"Lizard looks like a Goomba!"
"Gwen's character was all wrong! She's supposed to not know his identity AND hate/blame Spider-Man for her father's death!"

In all seriousness though, I put my flaws on Sony (ARAD!! :cmad:) more-so than I do with Webb because keep in mind, if it wasn't for them getting cocky with TASM2 and their future films (ARADD!! :cmad:), we wouldn't even be talking about a possible Marvel/Sony deal.

Cut everything except the last 30 minutes of TASM2 and you have the best Spider-man movie ever imo. I mean the best Spider-man short film lol.

Every Spider-Man fan shouldn't like it! Oh, boo hoo! Boo hoo! I liked it and I'm a Spider-Man fan so I have to hand in my Spider-Man fan club card.

I really don't think we should be panicking or feeding too much into this "casting call". Too much about it is a bit....off

Exactly.

They are very reactive and it reminds me of like a bad wrestling script-writer who is just trying to throw swerve upon swerve to keep the audience guessing over really making a good story with the given source material.

For example let me throw out a hypothetical scenario, in the beginning they possibly might've left it so Masse could've actually been Osborn (hey, it's possible) but perhaps because of the fact the fans are saying "it's Osborne! Is it Osborn? Hey it's got to be Osborn!", they were like "Hey let's change it to something else to keep them guessing because that's the best way to do movie!"

I think he was bad in both movies. I don't like how he plays Peter. He is too cocky and hipster acting. Plus, even before he became Spidey, Garfield's Parker was listening to headphones and skateboarding through school halls even when he told not to.

The skateboarding part especially gave off the vibe he was something of a "rule breaker." that coupled with what he did to gain access to Oscorp ( stole another kid's identity which got that kid arrested then trespassed in the spider lab ).

The more cocky, rebellious, "invincible" attitude should come AFTER he gets his powers and before Uncle Ben dies.

Also, I never once bought this Peter as a geeky science nerd. not saying you have to go all out dorky, but there should be a transformation ( physically and attitude wise ) from the meek, timid, nerdy straight A student to a kid who suddenly has godlike powers who feels he can do anything.

This Peter also came across as a bit of a selfish and self centered jerk where he expects everything to revolve around him ( especially in TASM ). Not in a mean spirited away, but he just didn't come across as though he cared about others aside from Gwen. Look how he interacted with Uncle Ben and Aunt May ( in both films ). He was somewhat "cold" to both of them.

And don't get me started on the height. TASM Peter just felt a bit too tall for the role. it's hard to buy him as the underdog nerd who constantly gets picked on my the big jocks when he's pretty much the same height as said jocks.

Paraphrasing X-Knight's great post here but it says what I feel well.

I will not miss Andrew Garfield as Peter.

:applaud

Bravo. I agree with everything you said here.

Can't wait till the TASM 3 thread closes one day...

I think the fatal error some fans make about garfields portrayal is that they look at the ditko era for comparison, but really a nerd is not the same as it was in the 70's. Most nerds I know are really good with women haha The focus on this version is that he's an outsider. Most people think peter parker should be like this hideous dork, but really when you look at the comics the dude is swimming in women lol

I think the cockiness was justified in a modern context
1. he's a teen with SUPER POWERS
2. He's got a hot girlfriend
3.extremely famous (as spider-man)
Most young people ARE self absorbed and feel invincible (until after college) haha and with him being bullied it was because of his intellect, and it was by one person in particular (FLASH) other than that he was just an outsider that was in his own world.

I liked the scene in TASM when he stuck up for the kid being bullied by flash before he got his powers, it gave this version more of a backbone and showed the "fight for the underdog" quality that spidey possesses.

If you look at the last 2 TASM movies it shows that he's still BECOMING spider-man, which is gradual.
In TASM he was so hellbent on finding his uncles killer that he didn't realize he could help others until about halfway through lol
By TASM 3 he should be the spider-man we all know in love, having experienced losing a loved one and taking his crimefighting seriously. Even though they dropped the ball on Tasm2, the franchise is not beyond repair, and garfield should be given some closure.

To this day, I still say Massee should've been Osborn.

i think they really tried to look at who he would be in the modern day and so they went with the whole contact lenses so he didn't always wear glasses alot of the time as alot of kids get bullied for wearing glasses

its kinda funny that some people say the lizard looked silly even though he looks like his classic appearance while they get uptight on the idea of peters dress sense being abit to hip
