you know what´s funny? producers loved TASM2 ... and some people who saw the "rough cut" too so that tells me the problem in the first place compared with Marvel or DC is that they are not confident of their vision...if they have any, i mean the E-mails make it see like they just throw ideas independently and they don´t actually plan

They throw ideas at the wall and just try to see what sticks. Very poor planning.

I really enjoyed the movie myself despite its glaring flaws, so it's entirely possible he loved it as much as I did. Despite my own enjoyment of TASM2, I would never in a million years compare it to any of the Nolan Batman films.

I certainly enjoy the movie, but I sort of view TASM2 as having "popcorn value." Saying it's the Dark Knight of Spider-Man films is just plain wrong.

You know what's funny? Despite TASM2 not being nearly as bad as Schumacher's films, there's a lot of interesting little parallels and coincidences:

A Nygma-esque lonely stalker with an overlooked invention falls into an unprotected vat, turning him into the blue-skinned main villain.

The green-skinned secondary villain manipulates him and breaks him out of prison, leading to a team-up.

A bumbling, idiotic brute as the third villain, who some people (not me) say is a complete butchering of the comics version.

I wonder if all of those things are coincidences or if the writers actually looked at the Schumacher films for inspiration. lol

Who knows? It's unfortunate that this film will go down as the B&R of the franchise, because, apart from probably kick starting a massive change of hands, it really doesn't deserve that tag.

I'll be honest here and say that I really disliked TASM2 as much as I liked it--I'm very 50/50 on it.

I still like putting the movie on and just having some fun watching it. But I still keep thinking about how much better the movie should have been.

SM3, TASM1 and TASM2 all fall under the woulda-shoulda-coulda umbrella. Webb's movies were very good, but they both were a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth.

Yep. SM1 and SM2 had very smooth productions. Too bad Sony is not able to learn from its mistakes and successes.

I honestly can't really see any of their other non-Marvel options happening. TASM3, S6, a second reboot? I mean, nothing's impossible, but the more I think about it, the less likely it seems.

So any knew rumors or news today?

No, but El Mayimbe from Latino Review tweeted something alluding to some further wrinkles in the whole thing. Good or bad, nobody knows yet.

The Sinister Six film and the other spin-offs just sound ridiculous. And TASM3 happening sounds like a bad idea. Sony rebooting (again) is also just not going to fly with audiences. Marvel option is the only good option.

What do you mean by further wrinkles?

He says "the plot thickens". It's possible he may have new details on the situation. His usual way of going about things is putting out vague tweets and then following them up later with an article. We don't know yet, but I'm itching to find out.

A return to Marvel Studios for Spiderman doesn't mean that they need to force major MCU references in there. All they need to do is acknowledge that Spidey is part of the same universe as Thor, Captain America and Iron Man with some very cool easter eggs or even cameos from minor MCU characters plus one major character. As I've said earlier, these would be my ideas:

- Peter and Aunt May are watching TV and President Ellis from Iron Man 3 is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
- Peter works at the Daily Bugle and one of his co-workers is Christine Everhart. They can say that JJJ recently hired her from Vanity Fair.
- Norman Osbourne does a TV interview, saying that he's richer than Tony Stark.
- Peter's in the library checking out a book and one of the books he briefly looks at is called "The Adventures of the Howling Commandos."
- Vincent D'Onofrio reprises his role as Kingpin.

How long does he usually take to write an article after posting a vague tweet? Should we expect something maybe tomorrow or later next week or perhaps next month?

According to the e-mails, they just want to establish that Spider-Man exists in a post-Civil War universe.

Agreed, they don't need to put any avengers in there or have nick fury show up at Peter's doorstep.

I would like to see Osborn don the Iron Patriot suit, as it would seem Rhodey retired from that position

Actually the only other Marvel character I would want to show up is probably Nick Fury. Maybe for a post credits sequence.

Oh wasn't it jan 10 when we found out about the asm reboot? What if we get news tomorrow with it being the 10th lol.

Not that long. I believe he posted about a new x-men scoop either this morning or yesterday and followed up on it some hours ago.

Seeing as he showed up early on in the Ultimate Spiderman comics, it actually wouldn't feel all that forced.

Good to know!

Nick Fury was almost like a role model of sorts for USM. After Civil War, I imagine SHIELD would be very much on top of Spidey so I think Nick Fury's involvement may be crucial.

More MCU easter eggs for Spidey without shoehorning any major characters in there (except Kingpin and maybe Daredevil):

- At the same UN General Assembly President Ellis is attending, there is also a representative of the Wakandan Royal family, but not T'Challa or T'Chaka. Could even be the Wakandan Representative to the UN or the Wakandan Foreign Minister.
- For whatever reason, Peter is interested in astronomy. He discovers planets like Xandar and Asgard and wonders if there is life on those planets. He finds out about Asgardians and Kree and Nova.

what was that scoop with xmen about? I really liked DOFP so I am interested to see what they do next even though I am mostly a sm and batman fan.

It'd be cool if maybe in school he does a presentation on a famous scientist for his science class like maybe Hank Pym and his work with shield or Tony Stark's advancements in robotics and AI (maybe he can drop an Ultron joke). Or maybe he flunks an essay for writing about rumored Chituari technology on earth or maybe even Asgard and Thor

Yes. That would be cool. An MCU Spidey movie can work without shoehorning any of the Avengers, but mentioning their adventures and exploits.
