In the Raimi films it made more sense because Flash was attacking Peter. Peter was just defending himself. In TASM Peter was just acting like a jerk and he damaged school property.

OMG he damaged school property? that totally ruins the name of peter parker

its pretty obviously it was attempting to show his cockyness after getting his powers which is a faithful plot element from the source material even if it wasn't a direct adaption of the events

as for saying about peter standing up to flash... its not like he decided to start a fight with him, in the end he was trying to help another kid and took a hit from flash for it

i think had peter not stood up to flash there would be people saying oh peter just let that kid get bullied

TASM movies are bad movies! Get used to it! You can defend them all you want but that doesn't make them good movies!

Actually I remember that after Harry snaps on Peter and then apologized about it, Flash oversees the whole thing and thinks that he may have been wrong about Peter because Peter was sitting there talking to Harry giving him advice. That may have been the starting point for Flash. All of this must be before he goes to war.

Everyone became more chill after Ditko left the title.

And you saying they are bad doesn't make them bad either, it just makes it your opinion

That is only the first day of college too. So much for thinking Peter is ok lol. And he picks on him like this lots in the college days.

Flash always thought Peter was beneath him until later on, but he warmed up to him over time and they hung out with the same people.

Though in high school, it was kinda a joke that Peter ended up getting all the women and Flash got the short end of the stick socially. He was always trying to bad mouth Peter but it just hurt his reputation with the girls. Just analyzing some interaction here:

8 - Peter stands up for himself and fights Flash, and accidently punches him out in front of everyone
9 - Peter gives Flash cold shoulder and people take note
10 - Flash shows general concern for Peter about him mouthing off about Big man
12 - Liz think Peter is brave and invites him to a Party
13 - Peter makes Liz laugh with his charm while Flash makes a fool out of himself
14 - Flash is jealous of Liz coming on to Peter, Betty is jealous to see Peter getting attention from another girl
Flash and his friend talk bad about Peter behind his back, but Liz defends him saying Flash is just an average loudmouth but Peter is smart and has brains, and her girlfriend agrees
17 - Liz forces Flash to have Peter invited to his Spidey fan club. While there, Liz gives Peter attention and tells he has such a cute sense of humor.

Etc... Peter really didn't have it rough. It was mostly just Flash and a couple of his friends bad mouthing him while others around Peter didn't have a problem with him and Flash just looked like a jerk for it.

Ok, I was wrong there, but I know it gets better. When does he go to war?

Later on in college he signs on to the military and joins the Vietnam war.

That was a lot later on. My point is still right. Peter got picked on in college.

Flash still picked on him all the way up to college. It does not make a difference that he looked a jerk for it or that Liz liked Peter. He was still picked on by Flash and his buddies. He only became cool with Flash after Flash came back from Vietnam.

Our definitions of being picked on are quite different. A few playful remarks with someone being a square that you are cool to hang out with isn't really being a bully or against someone.

No, he became ok with Flash long before Vietnam. I wouldn't define a few playful remarks about Peter being a square here and there as being picked on. Even friends do that to each other. It was just Flash's habit. He was cool with Peter at the Silver Spoon and was shocked when Peter got to date MJ and Gwen. He still was cool with Peter being there to be at his party to send him off to war.

He did not become ok with Flash before Vietnam. While in Vietnam, Flash's unit bombs an ancient temple whose acolytes had earlier sheltered Flash when he was wounded. Flash tried and failed to stop them. When he returns to America, he drops his antagonism toward Peter. Peter, in turn, begins to respect Flash's new found maturity and the two become close Also it is Harry who helps diffuse Flash's animosity with Peter because Harry is friends with both of them. That is why he behaves civil those two times you mention. But they were not real friends. Not until after Vietnam.

Real friends do not dread being in the same class as each other, or tell other people behind their back that they are square and puny and not cool. If he said that in front of Peter to Harry and Gwen you could say he is just joking because it's not behind Peter's back.

Fair enough. He wasn't REAL friends with Peter but he didn't try to outright bully or pick on him like he did in high school. He was quite civil throughout college with Pete before Vietnam. I guess you could say he put up with him because he was Harry, MJ, and Gwen's friend and he liked all of them so he was ok that Peter was within his social circle.

I remember that 90's TAS also had some Flash picking on Peter stuff in college, too. That show skipped Peter's High School years and dove straight into his college era at ESU.

It's one thing I really appreciate about the SSM cartoon. It covers those High School years that predominantly make up that golden Lee/Ditko era.

I'm sure we will hear something no later than early March.

Same with the 80s show.

Any ideas on what Vulture's costume should look like if he's in the reboot? I'd love to see a variation of the original costume.

I'd love a dark hunter green armor that's iron man-esque on the body, with metallic wings. Something similar to this:
