As great as he was, I want no returning actors

The Bond series was considered rebooted and a new continuity following Casino Royale, the first in the continuity, so...

Your argument is invalid

On a serious note though, Casino Royale was the first in a new continuity. 007 acheived Double 0 status at the beginnig of that film.

Didn't I say "****ed up continuity"? Or did you not read it?

Usually when I say the word CONTINUITY, it means that I understand that they used the same M for two "eras", which is what I also said.

Read. It will take you far in life.

And James Bond is a massive franchise with over twenty films, so they can take what kind of liberties they can, but Spider-Man, with taking a new reboot and everything, shouldn't bring in Simmons just because "James Bond did it". We need a new and fresh cast, as much as I love Simmons and he's the only reason besides Franco that made S-M 3 amazing, they shouldn't be brought back. It's not a big franchise like Bond, or it's not trying to explain alternate timelines like Star Trek, or trying to bring back former characters like Smallville(which was set in Donnorverse)...it's trying to create its own thing...like Batman Begins did and like Man of Steel is trying to do.

Bryan Cranston

^^^^This guy for J. Jonah Jameson

Bryan Cranston is marvelous.

^^She looks cute in this picture
I personally hate cameos...it takes me out of the movie. It's good for comedic moments like Stan Lee cameos but he's about the only cameo I tolerate because he is the Godfather but his roles sometimes go too far (SM3, FF2, TIH) and I roll my eyes.
I can agree on SM3 not being fit, but his role is funny in FF2, and essential to the story in TIH

We had these discussion long ago...and I still don't want her as MJ. I saw her on that one Smallville episode (I watched it just to see her acting skill) and this one thing on youtube where she's an interviewer in a movie. The youtube video is just HER scene. She isn't very good. Like...at all. No wonder she didn't get the part of Gwen...

Lol, I could honestly tell all of that just by looking at her. What's her name though? I'll check it out... but just based on looks she has no business being MJ. Just cuz she's a redhead doesn't make it a fit...
What makes your choice fitting?

why does nobody like my choice for MJ. She is attractive, a good actress (comes out in the secret circle) and is 22. just in case people don't know who i'm talking about, i'm talking about Phoebe Tonkin.

well if u seen her on the secret circle u can see that she can play seductive and bad girl. not that MJ is a bad girl but you know what i mean, also she play the sweet type girl

I'd rather have Phoebe tonkin over my choice than to have th idioyic fanboy choice of Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

he would do a goo Mary Jane. Maybe a decent Gwen Stacy or Betty Brant, but defs not MJ

MEW can't pull off the party girl but still deep and caring persona of Mary Jane.

By the way, My choice, Her name is Elena Satine and she's actually a rather good actress

If she wasn't good, Marc Webb wouldn't have let her audition ... with Andy Garfied by the way.

How about you go to bed instead of calling picks you don't like 'idiotic fanboy choices'? Talk about fulfilling the fanboy stereotype. :down

:funny:

Its called an audition, dude. They do those to SEE if you're a good actor. They don't scan your acting ability before hand and see if you're worthy to audition, haha.

And no, she isn't that great. She's rather plain and doesn't look as much like MJ as the "idiotic fan-boy choice", MEW

She'll always be my go-to for MJ.

MEW > ES

I mean really, who looks more like MJ from the comics (in any era)?

Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

And...Elena Satine is a good actress? REALLY? She was TERRIBLE on Smallville.

This. Just...all of this is correct, haha.

She has the look, the acting chops and a reasonably familiar name. She's been around Hollywood for a while, even headlined a couple movies. She's a sweet girl, but sexy and almost tough at the same time. I can imagine her delivering the Tiger line perfectly. She's around the same age as Garfield, and I'd bet that their on screen chemistry would be believable. Have you seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World? I wouldn't say she's exactly MJ in that, but she's reminiscent at times. Google image her if you're not familiar, she'd be a very good fit.
Excellent choice then you got there bub

And the Bryan Cranston as JJJ casting is absolutely brilliant :awesome:

MEW just seems like lazy casting to me.

hopefully sony cast the net further than current hollywood it girls.
look at garfield, how many people cast him before the reveal? you can count them on one hand and how it's hard to imagine anyone else for the role.

what I love about unknowns or actors on the cusp of stardom is when they play the role you see the character not the actor playing the character.

for instance if tom cruise was playing someone it's cruise who 'happens' to be (for example) but if it's an unknown it's doctor stange how happens to be (instert unknow actor name).

pick an unknown for MJ

Unknowns are great as long as they can actually act. If they can't it's a gigantic mess and I'd prefer them going with a more recognizable actor who actually has the acting chops if there was a choice between the two.

Also the director, casting people, etc have the advantage of auditions and whatnot and as a result they have a much wider pool of talent to choose from whereas we are basically limited to established talent we've seen before and the occasional up and comer.

Lazy or not, a perfect fit should be done
