TASM is gonna be sucessful no matter what.

It has the same weekend spot TF3 had in 2011.

It has no major competition that could beat out a Spidey films for 2 and 1/2 weeks when TDKR comes out, not to mention that no other film releases the July 4th weekend, so that leaves Spidey ALL ALONE on the BIGGEST MOVIE GOING WEEKEND OF THE YEAR!

Its a Spider-Man movie. Whiny fans boys, Dedicated fanboys (like us), and little kids are gonna pack the theaters a well as the regular GA.

Its impossible for this film to not make money.

I know its tough to not say that the marketing for this film doesn't suck right now but the marketing for this film is very similar to what the marketing for TF3 was. There was few and between things and the teaser revealed very little.

There was a surge in marketing around winter and a kick-ass super bowl spot and full trailer followed.

TASM is in the same boat as TF3 also in that both of these films are coming off of a terrible previous film (SM3 and TF2 respectively) and need to do some serious redeeming.

TF3 overcame the the negativity towards it. Many said they wouldn't see it because megan fox was gone. Many said they wouldn't see it because it would simply suck compared to another movie coming out. Many critcized the choice of 3D.

Ultimately though, TF3 wowed everyone and is considered the best of the serious by many.

Oh and the little detail that it grossed over a Billion dollars in, OH, 2 and 1/2 weeks?

TASM will not be the X-Men First Class of 2012 but the TF3. It has faced some serious criticism but it will be wow everyone in the end and make lovers out of haters.

good post hope you're right.
I must say with all these people rushing to see spidey I hope I'm able to secure my IMAX 3D tickets

The people who are "against" this reboot (y'know, the Raimi zealots :P) come under "whiny fan boys", right? Because we all know that they'll be the first ones in the cinema to see this. :hehe:

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels that way..verbatim. Movies on July 4th weekend where you are the only show in town? That's printing money for a good two weeks

All I know is that I'm going to rewatch the trilogy again in June and will DEFINITELY bawl my eyes out.

I rewatched them in early 2010 back to back after the announcement of the reboot and had withdrawals. That **** hurt me.

And then I'm going to go see Amazing Spidey, and walk either smiling hard at the potential of the new trilogy or holding back angry tears.

can you call yourself a spidey fan if there is a major release at the cinema and you don't see it? joel schumacher could make a spidey movie and I would see it at the cinema...okay I would be crying all the way to the cinema but I would still see it.

also...
the previous post whilst good overlooks a minor detail. TF3 was closing out the trilogy whilst ASM is a reboot.

I was desparate for SM4 and then news of the 'vultress' leaked (which may have been bull****).
I felt beads of sweat pouring down my brow and when I heard news of the reboot I could wipe that sweat away and breathe a huge sigh of relief.

neon webs, nipples on the spidey suit and the spidey platinum card...

what's not to like? :word:

spidey - 'this is why wolverine works alone'

I will never understand you. Plus, Your getting this movie confused with Batman and Robin which was released 15 years ago.

Yup. They fall under that category as well as the ones who are for the reboot yet whine instantly at everything when its not exactly like they hoped and the ones who can't make up their mind and one day love the reboot and the next hope Andrew Garfield die in a ditch.

and yes, They probably have their tickets fandangoed already.

I could see a super bowl spot perhaps maybe a special trailer on fox

you can buy tickets for ASM right now?!

SHH needs a 'sarcasm smiley'

:yay:

I know. I wa being sacrastic as well. Playing along. Plus, is it me or does it seems like Batman and Robin is kinda cut and paste rehash of Batman Forever? Even down to the opening scenes and scores?

I thought batman '89 was average (didn't like nicholson's take on joker)
the other three movie I just out and out HATE.
thank goodness for nolan, I can just act like the burton/s**tmaker batman movies don't exist. total rubbish!

The first 2 Batman movies, although different in tone, but share a lot of the same black humor, are great films. I think Tim Burton did a better job at creating the Gotham City.

the world greatest detective - we're talking sherlock holmes level here
amoung the world greatest martial artists
an absolute TERROR for criminals

please tell me how burton or s**tmaker addressed that in their movies?
to be fair nolan hasn't address the above either but he done a far better job than those two hacks. to be fair I shouldn't critise batman returns because the two times I've attempted to watch it I've fallen asleep.
