Thank God the "smart" (NOT) choice never came to be. Black Crappy should NEVER be in a Spider-Man movie.

Two things that i'm hoping to see in TAS:

1. After having just recently watched "The Spectacular Spiderman" series for the very first time, I gotta say that I really hope that they give Garfield's Peter the same type of humor that his animated/comic book counterpart has when wearing the costume. It was something that was sorely lost in the last two Raimi films due to the MJ drama.

2. I hope that we'll see Peter having to deal with more down to earth, every day life organized crime instead of just having to deal with super villains all the time, something to bring things back to a sense of normalcy in a way. I'm not talking about the stereotypical villains that Spiderman catches during a montage sequence, I mean the kind of organized crime/criminal activities that you'd see in everyday NYC.

I know this is pretty random and I'm not sure if it has already been discussed yet (if it has I apologize in advance)...

Since the Webb version appears to be sticking (how's that for a pun) closer to the comics, i.e. quipping Spidey, his parents, mechanical webshooter, Gwen, etc. do you think they will go over how Spidey actually 'pulls' his punches in combat? It's not something that they really ever showed or discussed in the Raimi movies and I think I remember someone talking about how Peter goes thru this thing where he is learning just how strong he really is, in Amazing Spider-man (I think it may have been RIM).

I think it would be a cool thing. Like maybe during his first crime stopping activity he starts pummeling dudes and wreaking some serious damage on them and is like "holy crap! I nearly friggin killed these guys!" After that he starts learning to pull his punches.

Sound good?

Well, there's a scene where he destroys his alarm clock by accident trying to hit snooze and (I think) a funny scene in the bathroom when he's squeezing a tube of toothpaste.

So if a very light slam destroys an alarm clock, I think he'll know when he's up against petty thugs, that unless he wants to kill them, he should probably hold back a little.

But I would like to see what you said, it'd be cool.

t: I thought I was the only one. For the first spider-man flick, I really wished they went the route that spectacular went with tying the green goblin in with the underworld and I really hope this movie shows that aspect of his universe. Tombstone, Silvermane, Green Goblin even the Hobgoblin..they all wanted to rule the underworld and organized crime. I always figured that should be a lesson he has to learn in these movies that sometimes for all the good you do as a good guy, the bad guys do win and showcasing that world is the best way to do that

I thiiiiiink RIM mentioned that in the scene where Peter is beating up thugs in the subway station that he is apologizing to them as he does so. I wouldn't be surprised if it's, as you said, Peter causing havoc without even trying because he hasn't figured out the proper amount of force to use yet.
