lol that's funny.

No, I'm a fan of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, especially the earliest issues. For me, the movie seems to capture the best of the Ultimate universe (like Pete and Spider-Man) and the Amazing universe (like Gwen) all rolled into one. :)
Yeah, it combines elements from both universes :)

We have the early design of Lizard from Amazing Spider-Man, but on the other hand Peter's parents were scientists like Amazing Spider-Man. Then we have Gwen as the first real love like ASM, etc.

Indeed. I'm really excited to see how everything plays out.
I like how the Lizard appears to be based off of his first appearances, despite the initial dislike for the lack of snout ect. and the use of Gwen from the Amazing run instead of Ultimate Gwen (who I'm not overly fond of).

what's the clip about?

Peter yelling (in costume) at Gwen on the phone, warning her that The Lizard is coming to Oscorp, where she is. Gwen says she wants to get everybody out/finish making an antidote-- cut to the Lizard scaling a building wall and breaking through it-- cut to Gwen setting off alarms and ****, then going to hide in a vent, and the Lizard breaking through a wall and looking for her, like we've seen in the trailer, then that creepy image of the Lizard looking through the vent.

All new stuff. Looked great.

:woot:

Same, I am happy they are using classic Gwen.

And I understand why they chose the original Lizard design and not the one with the snout. How would he be able to talk? It would look like Spider-Man vs. a dinosaur LOL

lol that's true. After seeing the original design (thanks to the 500 days till TASM thread) I have to say I really like it. Looks like a classic 60's monster, and Horner's style of music fits in with that era somehow... (at least from what I've heard from the soundtrack)

If the Lizard ALWAYS had a snout from the start, then I would have a problem with it. But they are using the original design and it looks cool IMO.

I agree.

Just had a random thought: assuming the Lizard survives and assuming more spidey movies get produced, what are the chances that we see the return of the Lizard with a more modern design (long snout, lab coat ect...)?

Not that the lab coat is more recent, that's always been there as far as I know.

Well, it appears as if Dr. Connors does survive the end of this film. We see him worn down in a prison cell talking to a mysterious man (possible Norman Osborn).

It is possible he will transform into the Lizard again (maybe in the third film). However, what would the reasoning behind it be? I am sure that Connors will make more appearances as an ally of Spider-Man, but I doubt he will transform.

If he DOES transform, then I feel like he would get the snout. His part would be minor anyway, and we would be less interested in seeing emotions and hearing him talk.

HOLY BALLS.
Thatll get asses on seats.

C'mon people this is the digital age.

Where's the Leno clip? :cmad:

Lol, I was gonna say "Wait until SpiderMarvelite sees it", but it seems as he did, hahaha.

Sounds so freaking awesome. Was he scary/meancing enough to the likes of a proper-villan?

Watching Jay Leno now...

I'll give my thoughts once I see it.

My nights are pretty pointless when Craig Ferguson is a repeat, but I guess I'll watch Leno for the clip.

Hrm....the scene went by pretty fast.

I like that Gwen is helping with making the antidote, but...I think the clip went by really fast and it packed it a lot in that quick time.

Spidey talking on the phone with his mask on? That actually made me giggle. Maybe it's not meant to be funny, but it seemed funny to me.
