Well it's confirmed, and they're writing it, right?

There's always a plan for a sequel. It doesn't always mean it'll pan out.

Dragonball: Evolution
Green Lantern
Daredevil
Catwoman

If the movie flops at the box office there won't be a sequel that much is for sure.

Even if the movie were to flop I don't think it could fall flat as big as those movies or at least I would hope so.

Either way the future of the movie all depends on the fiscal result at the BO.

hugh laurie for JJJ.

That would be fun.

No matter what, I hate that costume in every picture I see. It's just bad. Wish we had another trailer to show the Lizard though. Oh well.

Really !? Looks pretty badass to me. Looks more real or something. The only thing I'd get rid of is the red stripes running down the sides of his legs. That was overkill. Other than that I'm loving it. But to each his own.

heh, the leg stripe is the one detail I don't like about it. Other than that it looks pretty damn good.

Web pattern looks meh now

Can't even be called a web pattern really. It's a grid more than anything and yeah it's beyond lackluster they couldn't even get that right with this suit.

I've heard quite a few suggestions for JJJ, and many of them I can see happening. I hope Sam Elliott gets the job, but heres a few that I wouldn't mind

terry o quinn
bryan cranston
hugh laurie
clancy brown
jeff bridges

any of these guys would be fine for me

Take out Bryan Cranston. We need him for the Batman reboot as Gordon. :p

He's just to perfect for the role. ;)

Lackluster I like
In other pictures there aren't the small squeezed patterns between the normal pattern

Sam Elliot for a more than a comic relief J.J, much like him in TAS :awesome:

I find it hard taking your complaints seriously when you're likely looking foward to TDKR, the competition, more than TASM.

Y'know I've been a fan of the classic red and blue since I was five years old, but I absoloutely love the new suit design. It's faithful enough but at the same time different enough to distinguish it from the previous trilogy.

It probably won't earn the same money as the previous movies, but there's a great team behind so I have faith that it'll be a good film (that's what matters), and I'm sure it'll be successful just for the fact it's Spidey. People might argue that folks still have a bad taste in their mouth after Spidey 3 and I hate to even make the comparison, but X-Men Origins: Wolverine still earned a fair amount of buck despite The Last Stand being a big pile of crap AND the workprint being leaked.

I think we're all in for a big treat with the comic book movies coming out this summer, and I think The Amazing Spider-Man is going to surprise a lot of people. I'm really excited for both The Avengers and TDKR, but this is the movie I'm most looking forward to.

My anticipation for TDKR has nothing to do with my feelings on the new "suit". That's been the main thing I've criticized about this movie the minute they released the first promotional image long before you even decided to sign up. Way to take something completely irrelevant as a way to somehow justify you being dismissive.

Almost everything else (including the Lizard) I've actually liked so far, so you're making a mountain out of an anthill when you imply my anticipation for TDKR somehow "blurs" my judgement.

It doesn't. The actors are great, the performance seem good from the trailer and the cinematography looks pretty good as well. My main point of contention has been the suit and the quality of most of the promotional pictures/still for the movie which do a lousy job of actually showing the damn good cinematography, colors and well lit scenes I saw in the trailer.

I've never replied back to anyone here who sees nothing wrong with the movie or its marketing with a post saying I question their judgement due to their complete and utter affinity to absolutely every aspect of this movie.

That would be unfair and quite frankly stupid if I were to do that.

Point made. and I can understand what you don't like about the suit. THOSE GODDAMN STRIPES ON THE LEGS BUG THE HELL OUT OF ME!

Anyways, no more judgements based on the other films people are anticipating.

BUT I do think think TASM will hit the perfect balance between great storytelling and great action.

CBMS, so far, really have been able to hit one or the other.

I will give credit where credit is due and say Nolan has come the closest with the Batman series.

Who do you guys want to see play J. Jonah Jameson?
I personally want Sam Elliott to play him, and I know that hes one of the runner ups.

Please Marc Webb, make it happen!

I also hope J. Jonah Jameson doesn't hate Spider-Man for the sake of hating Spider-Man but actually has a backstory like the 90s Spider Man where his wife was killed by a masked man.

Sam Elliot has too deep a voice to be Jameson.

The big claw mark on his chest in the new pic is consistent with the one he had in the first picture we got. Along with how the suit's dirty and whatnot...

The only thing that isn't is the scratches on his face. He has more in the new picture than in the old one.

Unless he gets himself cleaned up after the battle (which we know he does), because the scratches on his face in the new picture look quite light.

I think the first picture we got is after the final battle.

These three pictures are definitely linked though.

The Lizard makes his way out of the sewers, causing a rampage in the streets (I seem to recall either RIM, or reading somewhere about a VFX reel or something like that of the Lizard running and Spider-Man following suit, also, notice the dark claw marks on his chest)...

Not sure why he's maskless, but yeah. Same claw marks on his chest and he's on top of a crushed taxi.

And finally, again, same claw marks and whatnot.

I'm between liking and disliking how the costume wrinkles
Indifferent

To me, Ted Levine, R. Lee Ermey, William H. Macy, or Chris Cooper would be better picks for Jonah Jameson.

Sam has too deep of a voice. Plus, every role he plays he sounds like a gruff, old cowboy.

Bryan Cranston somebody suggested for Jonah but to me him, Jason Isaacs, or Christoph Waltz would be well-fitted for Norman Osborne.

R. Lee Ermey could be awesome as J. Jonah Jameson.
"GET ME PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN, MAGGOT!"

Nah...he's not angry or loud enough. Stephen Lang would be good; although, I prefer him as Roderick Kingsley/HobGoblin.

There's nothing wrong with that.

TDKR is from an established franchise and will likely be the first actual third CBM that is watchable and enjoyable while TAS-M, although likely to be a financial and critical success, still has a possibility of turning into Green Lantern. Who knows.

Too deep of a voice??? For JJJ? And just because he plays cowboys a lot doesn't mean he can't play JJJ. Just haven't seen him play this type of role yet.

I think he can get angry and loud enough. He's been acting for 40 years, I wouldn't doubt his range

While I'm quite enthusiastic for TDKR, I fear it might be another Batman Forever dump down at No.3 considering my interest in trailer and info
