Read some of the first issue, didn't care about reading the rest he's in.

What's so wrong with that? I like to be hooked from the beginning of anything I read, and I wasn't.

Should I have kept reading Twilight even though I wasn't hooked when my g/f insisted I should take a gander?

How can you say more?
Cause it's that way

616 Gwen Stacy
Who is Ultimate Mary Jane here, with a hint of 616 Gwen

According to 1 sarcastic fan in these forums (his handle here), MJ and Gwen have their roles reversed in the Ultimate universe, thus reversed back to the natural order here

616 Lizard
But Connors here is Ultimate Eddie Brock sr., he was working with Richard Parker on something that changes the lives of many (Ultimate Symbiote/The Suit) and Peter trying to learn of his father he located Connors (like Eddie Brock jr in USM)

Ultimate Peter
Yes

Mixed versions of Ben and May
Ben is, he's young and doesn't have a horse tail in his hair
May is Ultimate

THIS.

I mean Pete was 15. Miles is 13. whhoooooo2 years younger than when Pete started. such a biiig deal -.-

I mean I admit when they first announced he was 13 i was all "meh" but after giving i a chance and reading it, i'm hooked

Actually, at that age a couple of years does make a big difference. I know I was much more mature when I was 15 than when I was 13. If we were talking 33 and 35 I would agree it was no big deal, but during the teens a person can change dramatically in a short amount of time.

Miles Morales is gay, right?

That's enough reason for me not to read 'em

So when we'll be seeing Mary Jane, she'll be Ultimate Gwen Stacy with a hint of 616 MJ?

Although we could still get the Ultimate Brocks, in a way, if Eddie is ever shown.

To think the characters are mixing of others is pulling straws me thinks.

Ben is, he's young and doesn't have a horse tail in his hair
May is Ultimate

Still a definite mixture, but I'm not buying it when someone says this movie is more Ultimate. Sure, it can be shown as more Ultimate than Raimi's in a way, but I don't and can't see it as that.

Did you like Molten Man in TSSM animated?

You should read Ultimate Spider-Man once more if you already read it, and if you didn't you should go through it

This movie isn't strictly Ultimate.

It's more of an amalgamation. There's even some TSSM in there.

It's amalgamation, yes, no one said it's not

Maybe you can say there's a hint of 616 Richard in how secretive he was

I am gonna say one more thing about Miles and then I will get back on topic. Now I am not trying to start anything or be " That Guy" but I think I big reason as to why some fanboys hate Miles so much is because he is black and Hispanic. If the made him a white kid there wouldn't have been such a huge backlash from fans. Which is pretty sad. ( similar to how Thor fans freaked out because Hemidall was played by Iris Elba in the movie).

Now I am not saying all fanboys dislike Miles because of his race, it's just a few small minded ones. Again , I am not trying to be a d-bag or start anything. It's just how I feel about the subject.

Using that as a gimmick, plus mixing two kinds of races that aren't white, and all these gimmicks

It isn't used as a gimmick... In fact, the comic kind of ignores the fact that he's half african-american half-hispanic. I think the point they're trying to make is that it shouldn't matter, and with Spider-Man, it doesn't matter. Miles Morales could be white or asian or even an eskimo, gay or straight for all I care and the story would be just as good.

Excatly! But there are some fanboys out there that will hate Miles just because of his race. They feel as though it's a gimmick and some are sadly just plain old racist.

um, nobody freaked out when Heimdall was a black guy. Most people around here were pretty happy about it because he's a good actor.

I don't hate Miles because he's black...

I'm just not happy because they had to kill Peter to introduce him AND then still say it wasn't a publicity gimmick. I think if they really had the balls, they'd kill off the 616 universe Peter.

But hey, that's taking a big chance, isn't it?

There's a point where you cross the line of having balls and just being stupid. Killing Pete in 616 would be a disaster. He's been around for what, 60 years now? It would be like the Clone Saga all over again.

Ultimate Pete's only been around for about 10. And Ultimate is known for taking chances and doing things differently. It's the whole schtick of the Ultimate Universe. I say let them play with it.

The day the kill of 616 Peter Parker is the day DC wins the war.

I think it's more or less them wanting to do something fresh, because sooner or later Ultimate Peter is going to grow up and just become 616 Peter a few years back, which would be repetitive. I'm actually kind of glad they did this. Because now in a sense Ultimate Spider-Man is truly a different Spider-Man now.
But I'm getting off topic.:oldrazz:

I can agree that killing Peter could be seen as a gimmick..ok cool, mostly because comic fans are jaded BUT I always had an issue with the idea of Miles being a minority is a gimmick..mostly because, what does that say about a minority? Does that mean because my race is introduced in a comic that it becomes a gimmick? That's not a good look at all and like you said, his race isn't even touched upon in the comic, he's not treated as "half black, half hispanic" he's treated as a character and his race doesn't define him.

@scarecrow, there were some people freaked out about it, something my dad even talked to me about and he could care less about comics or message boards. In fact, Idris Elba was asked about it in an interview before the movie came out: Elba On Controversy

Word!

Are you kidding? There were multiple threads in the Thor forums full of people *****ing about Idris being cast. And it was like that on other sites all over the place.

It worked out in the end because he was so badass but from the time he was cast right up until the movie came out there were people throwing hissy fits over it.

Really? How did I miss this? I don't remember it at all.
