for the record I call people who want to keep whit comic book characters white and black comic characters black, purists not racists.
the same people moan about costume changes, its no different to them.
personally speaking in a movie I want the best actor for the job so stuff like that doesn't really bother me. it didn't bother me in the slightest when they made heimdall white when I saw the performance of stringer bell.
I'm agreeing with Neil on this whole thing: Of course as a black man, seeing a black spider-man does fill me with a little bit of pride but at the same time, I don't think every favorite character of mine should be replaced by a different person or a different race, just tell me a good story. As long as it's good, I'll look past any cosmetic change you can bring me because at the end of the day, story is most important. I feel the same way with movies, give me the best actor for the job and it's funny you bring up Stringer, Daniel Craig has already endorsed him to be Bond when he gives up his walther ppk, and I would love to see that. Not because he's black but because the dude is one of the finest actors out right now, black or white.
