/\ There is awkwardness in having to say "um, I'm adopted" as well... done that more times than I can count lol... so that awkwardness could have come from the Stacy family finding out his parents died.

ha! as funny as this would be, I think it might not actually be too far off. In the first trailer, they cut to a shot of Peter looking rather uncomfortable after Gwen says that he lives with his aunt and uncle.

It could just be trailer editing. But I think it might've been a slip of the tongue by Gwen, after Ben has died. Which leads to a severely awkward dinner.

Very awkward. You'd think Gwen would be aware of the fact that Ben has died.

it wouldn't be that she doesn't know. Just that she said it without thinking.

Or perhaps Ben is actually still alive at this point, and Peter looks uneasy because it's out there he's parentless, with them viewing him in that way. Just a thought I'll put out there.

Exactly. As an adoptee - every time I have to admit to it when someone asks me for my family history even in medical terms - I always become like a deer in the headlights. Granted I never knew my parents and Peter did for a short time. It's not really information someone easily wants thrown out there.

So the look on his face could easily be the unpleasant feeling of Gwen mentioning that he doesn't live with his parents. Which may not mean a lot to her, but obviously means a lot to him. Remember A LOT of this movie according to Arad is diving into those angsty feelings of losing your parents at a young age and needing to find them in some way to complete the journey.

CAP: "Tell us about yourself, Mr. Parker."
PETER: "There isn't much to say."
GWEN: "Peter lives with his Aunt AND UNCLE."
*Immediately after*
KID: "Did you catch that spider-guy yet?"

Except this sequence of dialogue takes place offscreen in the trailer, where they usually mashup lines of dialogue from various parts of the movie to fill in some information for the trailer naturally as if it's an actual conversation.

Nothing here indicates what you're trying to point out, specially when some of the lines have different moods and don't really sound like they're part of that table conversation...

Yeah that line can be completely out of context as we don't see the boy say it at the dinner table, for all we know this could be after hes put out the warrant, which I think it is personally.

^awesome! I trained with that guy a few times in LA years ago. I see him in stuff randomly all the time and he's super duper talented. I look forward to the stunts!

How'd you manage that? It's cool if you can't say too, just wondering if the guy is like a personal trainer to at a regular gym or something --

It was actually at Valley college in LA. It was just an open gymnasium night once a week and my friend and I would see him there all the time practicing XMA, stunts and acrobatics. I do remember him giving us tips for the butterfly twist we were working on. He's really lankey, kinda tall and his technique is probably some of the most fluid and clean that I've seen.

There were lots of talented people there so we would learn from watching them and copying. The guy that was the stunt double for nightcrawler in X2 would come sometimes too. Always talking bout how nightcrawler was sooo much better than spidey. Pff. lol

The first trailer has Gwen saying the "aunt and uncle" line on screen, and the second has them talking about spidey on screen, it's part of the same conversation

...or maybe they have dinner together 2 times in the movie? :awesome:

The first trailer has flashes of the dinner scene but that line isn't fully performed onscreen. You'd be surprised with how much they can get away with some timed placements. Hate to be stubborn but having watched it a couple times I don't think she's actually saying what we're hearing on that scene. If I happen to be wrong, which I'll accept gladly when some hard proof shows up, this means that Spidey exists before Uncle Ben dies. Do we really want this to be true? :|

Plus, like it has been said, most of this dialogue wasn't onscreen in Trailer 2. In fact, the things that were really onscreen from that dinner scene were Peter's argument with Captain Stacy about Spiderman, so what we can be sure is that Spidey exists when that dinner takes place.

And yes, there could be two dinner scenes for all we know...

In the origin comic (Amazing Fantasy 15) I believe that Peter was Spider-Man for a time before Ben was murdered. During that time he did the wrestling bout (no costume, but disguised) with Crusher Hogan and after that was on some sort of television show (with his usual costume), just using his powers for personal gain. So if his beginnings are done in a similar fashion within TASM I won't be too upset about it.

So does Peter wear his father's glasses just for the sake of wearing something his father wore?

Because in the international trailer he's not wearing glasses when Ben's telling him about his father's case, but is wearing them later on when he's going through it.

Umm could be wearing them for the sake of wearing them. Once he gets his spider powers he no longer needs glasses anyway.

They are reading glasses?? Or maybe he likes the crazy wobbly effect of wearing glasses that make the world look out of focus. :woot:

I found a scene that was apparently cut from the trailer:
