No it didn't. I mean that image looks really familiar. Dudes laying on the ground with riot shields and cattle prods around them. We just got done beating up thugs with riot shields in another superhero game, a superhero game that is light years better than anything thats come before it. This game is going to be compared with Arkham City because thats the top of the superhero game genre. Sure Arkham City didn't "invent" thugs with riot shields, it didn't invent a lot of stuff, but it did everything so brilliantly people tend to pair certain elements with that game.

I guess that makes a lot of sense. I just get a bit annoyed that people tend to associate EVERYTHING that is even somewhat remotely similar to Arkham Asylum/City.

Some people I've talked to online make it sound like the Arkham games invented the stealth genre in the first place.

And now I want to play Arkham City again. :woot:

Yea I know what ya mean, it's not that people feel that series invented those things, it's just that it's done those things so well and within a recent time frame. I mean any superhero game will be compared with that one. It's far and away the best.

Haha, I'm currently playing through it for the 5th time.

I want to use one web line to swing past 3 buildings while holding into it

I think it's about time I jump back on Arkham City myself

Well, unless the buildings you connect the web to are all exceptionally tall, it's a simple matter of mathematics. For one web to be long enough to cover a full arc like the one you're describing, Spidey would probably end up going all scrapey scrape with the pavement halfway through :P

I want the webline to stretch at the end of the arc allowing the swing to be longer
And going past three buildings should go for high swinging from tall buildings, short buildings could have reasonable swinging

Working all weekend and still no news. Hope there is something today.

That's only if they implement those type of physics to his swinging, which i seriously doubt, they'll more than likely stick to the script and keep the same mechanics for his swinging. I personally would like to see more physics done with webs, maybe allow Spidey to make traps with his webs and tripwires. I swear the Euphoria Engine would be the way to go with Spidey

Yea i think gravity should play more of a role. I always hated in Spider-Man 3, you could come to a complete stop, then move the character in any direction. Spidey would just float away from the building. The complete lack of physics was just one of the plethora of problems that game had.

I agree, although the game will be freeroam, I would like to see the overall gameplay mechanics mission wise play out linear, if that makes sense. I think that was alot of the problem with the previous freeroam games, he's able to do so much in the open world that when it comes down to taking out several thugs, he's all over the place and not in a good way. There were often times when I would be fighting a group of people, his a button and Spidey would zip somewhere where I didn't want him to be, dunno how they would be able to fix that issue, but it definitely needs looking into

Please excuse my possible noobish ignorance...what is EE?

Its a game engine developed by Natural Motion. It is heavily physics and weight based. Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption used it to great effect.

Heres a RDR video talking about the tech. Starts at about the 2:00 mark.

All the more reason we need to see a trailer focusing on the actual game mechanics. I want to have a reason to be excited for this game to be great, other than faith.

Thanks. Is it something that Beenox would have been able to use? Or is it a licensed deal?

RDR is fantastic btw. Love that game.

The engine is pretty amazing, they capture real world physics pretty great, I really think Spider-Man could benefit from it. At this point and time, Activision really needs to make sure this next Spider-Man game is right on the money, not sure about you guys, but I'm pretty stoked to see the film, I would like the game experience to be just as good.

Yea, I'm fairly interested in the new film, altho iv got some serious concerns about it(Bens death????) and iv never been a big fan of the new costume(its growing on me tho). Im also not a fan of the choice of actor for Curt Conners. Rhys Ifans is great, but Curt Conners? I dont know.

Im more interested in the game at this point due to the fact that i want a good Spider-Man game. Every time one gets announced i keep hoping that 'this is it'.

What about Ben's death?

If it is about what I'm thinking, I'm guessing the trailer wasn't spliced correctly, making it seem that Spidey was around with Uncle Ben still alive. Trailers do this type of thing all the time.

Yea I'm hoping that was it. It just seemed odd. If the scene from the trailer where Gwen tells her father that Peter "lives with his aunt and uncle" happens right after the clip Sony released of Peter being confronted by the doorman, then it would appear that Parker is Spider-Man before Uncle Bens death. In the clip it showed Peter stuffing his Spidey costume into his book bag, yet, I'm assuming right after, is when Gwen makes the mention that Parker still lives with both his aunt and uncle.
