The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 1

That's what I thought and originally it was suspected that TASM the game would do the same. Either way, it doesn't bother me, cause I am most likely gonna get and play the game on launch day. An inlcusion of the Lizard would be a nice touch and it would only make the game that much better.

Yea ill prob do the same. I mean i know what happens at the end of TASM. Spidey and Conners fight, Spidey wins. End of film.

Pat, you seem to have a decent knowledge of game production, so I have a question for you.

The graphics that were seen in the most recent trailer...are those most likely the final cuts or builds or whatever you call them? Or will they enhance the quality and do touch ups between now and the release of the game??

Yea they'll go through a few touch up's. I mean it takes time to put trailers together. That trailer has probably been completed for some time. With that said though, i wouldn't expect the touch up's to be too noticeable at this point in development. The game is out in June, and theres about a 3 month window from when the games production stops, to the time it arrives in stores. They're getting down to crunch time now. Most of the work from here on out will be focused on polishing and bug screening.

Ok. Cool. I have paused the trailer at various points and sometimes the graphics look fantastic, with great amount of detail and polish and there's moments where I was like 'ugh, that don't look so good.' I wonder how long ago they produced that trailer though.

Anyone thinking the game might be a "What If..?" plot? I'm thinking the movie will end with a cure for all the infected

Just a cool picture someone screen captured.

Beenox just posted the Rhino Trailer in HD. Here it is.

It's so much better than IGN's video. The graphics look very clean and sharp and even the colors seem to be brighter. Seriously, IGN has so many issues with their damn vids or their player, I'm not sure why people even bother to have them issue stuff. I guess for a larger audience?? Eh, whatever.

yeah, that looks great, they've seemed to have stepped their game up when it comes to enemy character models, a little more polish and a person can easily assume this is a screen cap from the film

I liked it more than before. Not that the music is also different, but I'm liking it too.

In the trailer, the combat and gameplay was obviously slowed down for that 'theatrical feel' but I wonder how fast the actual combat will be? As in how fast Spidey moves when performing the moves and stuff. The speed of Catwoman in AC was great...do you think Spidey will be as fast or faster than her?

Being as fast as her is good enough to Spidey. We can manage our combos in that speed. What he needs is to be stronger than her.

He is most certainly stronger than her but he also 'pulls his punches' too. I'd still like to see him flex that strength in the combat situations and take down enemies in a more realistic fashion...no more 50 hit combos.

The love the music in the trailer. That creepy itsy bitsy spider sounds like something that should be in Dead Space or The Woman in Black and then that dubstep type music after wards just fits with Spider-Man. He's suppose to be this energetic kid and that music goes well with him.

Yea I thought it was good trailer overall. Got me excited to see more which is what it was supposed to do

Are you guys sure the song being hummed is the Itsy Bitsy Spider? Doesn't sound like it me.

This is where Beenox' supposed research will come in handy. They've stated that they have used past Spidey games as a point of reference for making this game. If they make TASM into an updated, HD version of SM2, we may have a winner.

I think they should also take a look at other games as well. Games like inFamous and even the Prince Of Persia games could be of use for inspiration, in addition to the oft-cited Batman: Arkham Asylum/Arkham City.

Spider-Man 2 was fun for the time, and had a lot of good ideas, but really could have used more development time to perfect them. As it is, it has free-roam and great web-swinging mechanics, but little else to supplement those aspects. I hope that The Amazing Spider-Man doesn't have this problem.

I would also like to add Assassin's Creed as well, those games really demonstrated how well to move about highly populated areas. Honestly, I don't think we will see any of that in this game, as I stated earlier, Beenox may just stick to the script when it comes to how Spidey gets from one place to another. I agree with you when it comes to Spider-Man 2, it was great at the time when it came out because it offered an experience that we never had seen before, but since it's release, there has been quite a bit of open-world games to come out, it's not really that much the developers can do with Spidey to make it set itself apart from the competition, at this rate all they can do is perfect it.

As much as we want the game to be great from a gameplay standpoint, I really hope they address the issues that have plagued the past games, mainly the camera issues. Here recently, being so amped for this upcoming game, I decided to pop in Spider-Man 3 and Web of Shadows (yes.....I do own them both, and blew dust off of them lol) and as much as one would like to love the games, the camera can really get annoying. I honestly think the only way they would be able to resolve this issue is by minimizing exactly how fast Spidey moves to a degree, at least that's what I've been seeing as I've been playing, he moves alot quicker than the camera does and it has a hard time keeping up with him. Dunno what Beenox has up their sleeve for that issue, but eh what the hell, the game had better be good :cwink:

I completely agree!

I'm pretty sure Beenox would be well across all those Triple A titles since they don't live in a cave.
