The Amazing Spider-Man: The Game - Part 1

I'm pretty sure they've mentioned that they looked at Spider-Man 2 when making at this game, which is good. But they've also said that a lot of it is their own thing, which is better.

If I want to play Spider-Man 2, I'll play Spider-Man 2.

Very true. However, it's important that they do the research that they are apparently doing. When creating anything, in general, it's best to learn what you can from those that came before you and look at how they did things. See where those people succeeded with their designs or whatever and take those designs and make it your own.

Beenox seems to taking this approach to the creative process with making this game. That has me feeling good about the possibility that TASM will actually be a great game. They obviously love the character of Spidey so that's a big plus. Of course, we really haven't seen anything yet IMO to make me really want to support this game fully other than the fact that it's free roam.

Holy freaking crap man... I think that was possibly a cooler trailer than the actual movie trailer. Also, combat looks fantastic too.

This game suddenly spiked way up high on my interest meter all of a sudden. Hot damn!

Considering we got a two-game break from Rhino, I actually look forward to his return. And I really like his creepy new look.

I mean seriously, wow. I couldn't of been any more impressed by that trailer. The flashes of combat we got to see looked perfect. Rhino looks great. Spidey looks great. Wow. Great trailer.

I also noticed it looks like Spidey had some "battle damage". I wonder if thats real time or happens during certain sections of the game. Like it did with the Arkham games.

Yea that is kind of odd considering the takes place after the film. Not sure how i feel about that. I hope the game doesn't give away any spoilers.

Maybe something like Mortal Kombat, and gets reversed after loading saved game in a section not in a fight

No there is clearly going to be other monstrosities. Rhino however is the only one that was human first. All the other Oscorp experiments where done with animals being infused with human DNA.

If you ask me, that's actually kind of cool in a sense, the trailer did great introducing Rhino into the mix, that's how it's supposed to be done, SM3 just dropped him into the game and provided a bland backstory. That combat really took me by surprise, especially seeing Spidey perform wrestling moves and maneuvers, I sure hope they modeled the combat after Arkham Asylum. If the final product turns out to be a success, that's gonna be a nice achievement for Spidey and Activision, great Spider-Man game and great movie tie game, double win.

But anyways, I'm glad they are giving so much backstory to the game's characters. That's always nice to see.
