Again, some people will be thrilled to have Stan Lee in the game, but i look at it as, what else could of been done. I dont care to play as the guy, in fact, i will give out my Stan Lee code to whoever wants it, when i get the game(as i always go with Amazon)
Well, I always take what is free, even when I don't really care, so remember about me when you get the code

Assassin's Creed 3 just got a gameplay trailer today...the game comes out in October...Just thought I'd throw that out there...

I saw that trailer. ACIII has sounded like an awesome game from the get-go and now with a gameplay trailer, they can back up the talk with the walk. I wish I could say the same for TASM. I guess some people know how to show off a game correctly and some do not.

It's been almost 2 months since the last trailer, they need to step it up. Game's out in about a month and a half.

I don't know what happened, for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Beenox was releasing exciting new material and trailers very consistently, then for Edge of Time there wasn't any marketing lol, I never really got excited for that game. For TASM, they started out strong with the NYCC trailer, the VGA trailer was weak for how big the audience watching was, the Rhino and Iguana trailers were both very exciting however.

I really want to see some straight up gameplay already, that or the dang web rush trailer Dee Brown's been talking about for weeks. Announce Andrew Garfield is voicing Spider-Man, something, I don't know.

Agreed. I'm not preordering this game either until I see something truly worthy of a preorder. It's a joke. And a very bad one at that. If you look back thru this thread and read my previous posts you will find that I have been a very positive supporter of both Beenox and TASM. Everything that has been talked about with regards to this game has me excited...they seem to be including all the things I really want in a Spidey game. Fluid, realistic combat, good web swinging, etc. etc. etc. But like anything else, the proof is in the pudding. We haven't had a trailer since the middle of March. No gameplay footage has been shown in a real, unedited fashion. What gives? Oh lets just show them some more gimmicks instead. Blah. Whatever. I'm not posting anything positive anymore with regards to this game...not until I see gameplay that is worthy of such a positive attitude.

What I don't get is why they wouldn't want to show it off? I mean, if the game is as good as Beenox is touting, then why not show it off? Think about it. Imagine your perfect dream car. Go ahead...picture it. Whatever it is, a fully restored muscle car, a Lamborghini, etc. Ok. Got it? Now let's say you just bought this dream car of yours and it was just delivered to your house. What's the first thing you are gonna do?? Well, if you're like me and probably just about everyone else...you are gonna immediately drive around town and show off that bad boy. You're gonna call your friends, family, post pics on Facebook, drive your friends/family around. Why? Cause you're damn proud of it! You're not gonna lock it in your garage and then start telling everyone that you have the best car ever. And then not show it to anyone. Just go on and on and on about how awesome it is, but not let anyone see it. Then, after a month goes by you post a pic of just the wheel on Facebook...your friends and family get excited..."hey, that looks like it could be awesome, when can we see it and go for a drive?" But instead you just go on and on and on talking about how awesome it is and say "oh, don't worry, you'll see it soon...but just trust me...it's the best car you've ever seen." This goes on for several months and all you do is talk and release teaser crap pics on Facebook. Pretty soon people are gonna stop giving a crap about it and probably think you don't even have the car. Get what I am saying?

Sure, that's a little over the top with the analogy but it makes sense. Assassin's Creed III just released an awesome gameplay trailer and the game doesn't even release until October. Wow. Why are they not doing the same for TASM? What's the secret? Maybe the game sucks. Who knows. I haven't really seen any gameplay, so I can't back up any of the positive previews of the game and I won't...not anymore, not until I see some actual gameplay.

/end rant.

If its any consolation, the latest preview for this game is in this months Game Informer and it actually is a hands on demo. The writer doesn't give us any new details but he seems to feel the game is headed in the right direction. He doesn't mention any glaring flaws, from a gameplay perspective.

Yea and the newest Hitman title has a full level walk through that was released almost 2 months ago( the game is set to drop in Nov)

Although lets be real, TASM won't have near the production values those 2 titles will.

Spider-Man has had 2 gameplay trailers out that are like the Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay trailer so you can't use that as an excuse.

Thanks. Yeah, man, I'm just frustrated ya know.

My greatest fear is that you just answered your own question. Like you, I was SO excited for this game when the first trailers came out. Everything we saw and heard made it seem like this was the Spidey game we've all been waiting for. But I'm starting to think of it like a movie that the studios don't allow the critics to see before the release because they know their reviews will be negative. This is just a theory, but it seems to me that they're hyping this thing up and offering a number of "cool" pre-order bonuses because they want everyone to jump on the bandwagon before it's released. Even the Hip Hop Gamer guy, as excited as he was about it, you'll notice that he didn't get any actual hands-on time playing the game. So, all we can say for sure is that it looks cool. But what about the gaming experience?

My hopes for this game have gone WAY down.

Just read the GameInformer preview article and it sounds much better than I expected But eh I still ain't sure!

Wow some of you are a fickle bunch. Just because they're not releasing unedited gameplay footage it's gonna be bad? The first hands on preview just got released, and there are four trailers as of now.

I mean everyone wants unedited gameplay, but that goes for every game.

Compare this title with other AAA titles man. We aren't getting nearly as good a look at it as some of these other games. Hell neither are industry writers, up until that GI article, they have all been hands off previews.

Theres still plenty of time left, but you'd think wed have a little more to go on by this point.

Speaking about that hands on preview, anyone know what their words on it was? Did they like it?

I don't think anybody should be upset with lack of info cause at least you've had some,In the 90's we didn't know ***** except ad's in mags/commercials on TV and in demo form by a month or two before release!!

The article ends with this

We'll have to wait and see if Beenox can prevent Spider-Man from falling back into another rut, but right now it looks like the hero is swinging in the right direction

The only thing negative that the preview goes on to state is this

The combat could use more diversity, but we hope battle strategies continue to evolve as the game progresses.

They dont really talk much about the actual gameplay. They dont talk about the web swinging or anything else. Just the web rush.

We aren't in the 90's any more. Thats not an excuse.

Now you're putting words in my mouth. I never said it's gonna be bad or anything like that. I only said It seems odd that they wouldn't want to show off their wonderful new game. So far, it's just a bunch of talk and we've been duped before.

I'm not making an excuse,Just saying you have gotten info and should be happy cause your lucky it's not how it was years ago!!

I was around then, granted i wasn't following games, but it doesnt matter. Im not going to be content with a lack of info in an information age.

I dont know why Activision hasn't shown more of the game, I'm not making a claim one way or the other, but it just seems odd. Maybe they'll make more of a push the closer we get to release which will make all of this moot any way.

I feel like a lot of you must be sort of newish at Spiderman game following :awesome:
As someone who has posted on all the old official spiderman game sites then finally on Hero HQ when they switched to that hot mess, I can firmly say that this is exactly how it always goes. We have never EVER gotten to see free roam gameplay except when a few of us would get it a day early or a few hours early and post it ourselves on those official sites.

To me, this lack of a proper gameplay video is starting to make Beenox look like they're not quite sure how the game will be recieved. I want to have confidence in the game, but even so, I can remember almost this time last year, gamespot had a full 17 minute video walkthrough for Captain America: Super Soldier, and that was Sega for Christ's sake, if Sega had no qualms about releasing footage, then why the hell is Activision taking their sweet ass time. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

And thats the problem, all those games were pretty poor.
