Agreed. I'm not preordering this game either until I see something truly worthy of a preorder. It's a joke. And a very bad one at that. If you look back thru this thread and read my previous posts you will find that I have been a very positive supporter of both Beenox and TASM. Everything that has been talked about with regards to this game has me excited...they seem to be including all the things I really want in a Spidey game. Fluid, realistic combat, good web swinging, etc. etc. etc. But like anything else, the proof is in the pudding. We haven't had a trailer since the middle of March. No gameplay footage has been shown in a real, unedited fashion. What gives? Oh lets just show them some more gimmicks instead. Blah. Whatever. I'm not posting anything positive anymore with regards to this game...not until I see gameplay that is worthy of such a positive attitude.
What I don't get is why they wouldn't want to show it off? I mean, if the game is as good as Beenox is touting, then why not show it off? Think about it. Imagine your perfect dream car. Go ahead...picture it. Whatever it is, a fully restored muscle car, a Lamborghini, etc. Ok. Got it? Now let's say you just bought this dream car of yours and it was just delivered to your house. What's the first thing you are gonna do?? Well, if you're like me and probably just about everyone else...you are gonna immediately drive around town and show off that bad boy. You're gonna call your friends, family, post pics on Facebook, drive your friends/family around. Why? Cause you're damn proud of it! You're not gonna lock it in your garage and then start telling everyone that you have the best car ever. And then not show it to anyone. Just go on and on and on about how awesome it is, but not let anyone see it. Then, after a month goes by you post a pic of just the wheel on Facebook...your friends and family get excited..."hey, that looks like it could be awesome, when can we see it and go for a drive?" But instead you just go on and on and on talking about how awesome it is and say "oh, don't worry, you'll see it soon...but just trust me...it's the best car you've ever seen." This goes on for several months and all you do is talk and release teaser crap pics on Facebook. Pretty soon people are gonna stop giving a crap about it and probably think you don't even have the car. Get what I am saying?
Sure, that's a little over the top with the analogy but it makes sense. Assassin's Creed III just released an awesome gameplay trailer and the game doesn't even release until October. Wow. Why are they not doing the same for TASM? What's the secret? Maybe the game sucks. Who knows. I haven't really seen any gameplay, so I can't back up any of the positive previews of the game and I won't...not anymore, not until I see some actual gameplay.
/end rant.
