Good grief, that sounds like a blast. I love feeling like vomiting whist webslinging about...

lol. I'm sure there was some exaggeration in their comments but maybe not. I like the sound of being able to swing and get a rush from it. If you're worried about it...take some Dramamine.

So would i, by not focusing their attention on adding dumb web tricks and speed boosts. Let that stuff come organically from a more physics based swinging mechanic.

except it takes alot more work, time, and detail to get a 100% perfect physics in the game. Something that's completely arbitrary.. I don't want to have to calculate all my angles as i drop from buildings to be able to move faster  sounds stupid as all hell, and a waste of time and energy that can be used elsewhere.

In TASM, there will not be an unlock for more swing speed. You get Spidey's full swing capabilities from the start of the game and honestly this makes the most sense. It's not something like his web shooters or combat that would make sense to upgrade.

It doesn't make sense to upgrade the swing speed as the character becomes more practiced at webslinging, more nimble and experienced at said craft?

They've been working on this game for over two years. I think thats plenty of time.

i think spidey 2 was going for the "training you to be spider-man aspect" which didn't make sense for spidey 2 (hes been spidey for a while, there's nothing to trial and error) but i'd actually argue it kinda makes sense for the reboot for you to "level up" and gain more skill with your abilities. Web swinging successfully with speed is a skill that the character would have to learn.

then pray to god the games nothing like it's predecessors story wise. and actually have replay value. If not that was two years wasted on dynamics that don't propel the rest of the game.

im already skiddish about this game due to the fact we've seen very few villains... something beenox seems to like to limit.

...how in the hell has the boost LOOKED stupid? Nothing changes during the very short boost except the speed of the character. Nothing stupid looking about it. Also, once again with your realism crap...you know what almost every other developer has been has been able to pull off and what Beenox has fallen flat on their face on...only one of the most important parts of the freaking character: WEBSLINGING!

Its not my "realism crap" Beenox are the ones who have said on MULTIPLE occasions they are trying to create a more grounded environment. Its one of the reasons we won't see Spidey pull of some stupid looking 30 hit combo in mid air. Oh but thats fun, so lets include it, regardless of how stupid it comes across in this universe Beenox is trying to create. I and some others have explained multiple times why swing boost and air tricks are not needed if the swing mechanics are designed correctly. All you come back with is BUTZ ITS FUNZZZ! Its up to you to figure it out now bro guy.

Talking about training...have they confirmed Bruce Campbell narrating this game?
I seriously think I heard about it.

ah didn't see your post :), posted the same thing

i was being sarcastic...to a point. I doubt it'll actually make anyone even slightly sick...but the idea of the camera being in real close to spider-man as he webslings doesn't sound great to me either. I got a rush from SM2 when i first played it and the camera was comfortably back so I had a good grasp of spidey and the scenery.

They are giving you the full amount of his web swinging ability from the get-go. It's better imo to upgrade things like combat moves and upgrade tech like his web shooters.

Yeah except you've already played SM2...you haven't played TASM yet and we've only seen bits and pieces of the gameplay. Nothing has been shown hands-on yet and no unedited gameplay for us at the moment so until then it's not fair to make those comparisons.

I totally agree about the mid-air 30 hit combo stuff. Sure it's fun, but I prefer the grounded realistic combat aka AC and what we should be getting in TASM.

lol...and you're use of the word "stupid" is as fresh as ever the 50th time you say it in about 4 posts. Very mature and verbose of you.

But whatever, we're not going to agree. You put more emphasis on what the developer has to say as if that makes it great and what others think is super cool...i care about what's fun in a spider-man game. And correct me if i'm wrong...but isn't having fun what playing video games is about?

Yeah, cause they spent the entire time working on this game solely on the web swinging :whatever:

SD had 13 villains in it. I'd say that's a good amount. People were complaining about the lack of a story in SD so Beenox pulled back on the villains and concentrated more on the story. Either way, reviewers of the game's demo footage stated fans would be happy with the number of villains in TASM.

kind of scary when you think about it...how far away is the game from release...and they haven't shown or demoed what now?

Im coming from the standpoint of where Beenox is at. You obviously don't realize what they're trying to do, which is why you are desperately grasping at s**t mechanics from previous Spider-Man titles. You are welcome to go back to playing SM2 and SM3 with all its weak ass air tricks and speed boosts. They aren't going any where.

The game releases on June 26th. The demo footage they've shown has only been to a bunch of reviewers, gaming websites, and those that attended the GDC. We know that Beenox will have a hands-on demo at E3. They should also be releasing a gameplay trailer either this week or next.

oh. thank. GOD I have your permission, kind sir. I was worried I'd never get to play those games again!

And seeing as how you've apparently played the Amazing Spider-Man and know that air tricks and speed boosts aren't in there...well...i'm sad to hear that, but I'd love to try your time machine so i could play ASM for myself!

Go onto gametrailers.com right now and look up spider-man 2 for PS2...you'll find a trailer entitled "Gameplay" (...which shows gameplay) 5 months before the game was released!

spooky stuff...

The game should have a happy medium between realism and fantasy. It should make you believe something fantastical could happen or at least look that way. and a spidey game without tricks is like Batman without the ability to be brooding...

I think its just a case of simply reading between the lines. I mean Mr. Brown has stated there are no upgrades to swinging and what you get from the start is it. We know there is one button for swinging with no other indications there will be anything added. Its entirely possible both boosts and air tricks will show up, but from what we have seen, its easy to assume they dont. Air tricks were there to have Spidey do crazy spidey like maneuvers, it appears those are now incorporated within his Web Rush.

I know, even GOW 4 has a multiplayer demo and they don't even have a release date yet!!! Apparently the next thing we'll be seeing is another quick cut trailer but no unedited gameplay videos...
