Damn, I don't want to sound all negative, but I really wanted this movie to be truly amazing. To me, it sounds like this movie has too many problems with its script and editing/pacing for it to be anything more than good.

I feel the same. But these mixed reviews are good for me in a way. Now I won't expect too much and will just try to enjoy it for what it is.

Just FYI, SevenWebHead's reaction video is coming out very soon.

Judge for yourself, if its others opinions that you wish were different then fair enough but see it yourself

1. I guess, makes sense. Like he was waiting on Peter to admit what he already knew!

2. I think he is tbh. Harry Goblin is *the* Goblin. And I'm fine with that.

fair point. i think i may be basing my 2nd point on how manipulative comic Norman is as we haven't seen anything of him in this iteration thus far. Chris Cooper has hinted though at a bigger role for Norman in future

To me it sounds like this movie is what Razatron said it was a love story and about Peter's life the villians are taking a back seat
but i think it would be good to hire someone to work on the villains and let marc focus on relationships

That's exactly what it is. It's Peter and Gwen's movie, with multiple under developed sub plots.

I'm going to see it again on Saturday. I'm hoping the movie might not feel as cluttered to me on a repeat viewing, but I doubt it.

I don't really understand why you and Perry are getting sad about. This film was ALWAYS set to face critics that literally WANT to hate on this. So far, the reception has been nothing short from amazing, with a lot of critics praising how truly amazing the film is, and that's coming from EVERYWHERE.

In 2012, I felt like Spidey was the sideshow, the opening band. This time they are owning the place and getting some crazy attention and hype. I feel good for feeling a Spider-Man film like a binaries event once again. :woot:

I don't mind the criticisms that the film has been getting. I can leave with the tonal change (that's part of Peter Parker's life) and i can live with some pacing issues as long as they don't take me out of the film. What i can't live with is the underdeveloped villains. Seriously, it's been two movies in a row and the few minutes of screentime that the villains have been getting still remains a problem. And i don't know where to attribute that. To the screenwriters, to the director, to the editor or the the source material itself?

So much for Spider-man having one of the best rogue galleries.

Too early to judge than those 4 people that gave it 9 the film seems to be pretty much TASM level, the highest is a 8 but the lowest general score is a 6. It doesn't make you go Wow! But it's pretty good!

Also what f*** about Doc Ock not being in the Sinister Six!

People are really starting to lose their minds in here, the best thing being "I wanted the movie to be amazing, and it sounds like it's not", how can you even know that, you might think it's amazing.

Joe talking about issues and the ability to overlook them, I disagree. Quite a few movies lately that got a lot of flak regarding certain "issues", that doesn't mean you have to acknowledge that if you don't see it. I'm not gonna listen to the consensus & hold it in any regard whatsoever.

I don't know what else to say about that. To this day, aside from the Lizard which is a weak villain, I still don't understand why TASM gets so much flak, and it's not me being delusional or ignoring anything.

This whole thing is silly really, we shouldn't care, and yet we care.

Electro was visually awesome, his purpose was to give that awesomeness so I don't care

Just to be clear, I haven't made up my mind yet, I'm just lowering my expectations a bit. I just feel like CA: TWS was so good because all the events flowed perfectly.it also saddening that this is pretty much their only chance to do [BLACKOUT]Gwen's arc[/BLACKOUT], so its unfortunate that the pacing is off and the villains are underdeveloped according to other people. Hopefully I'm not bothered by the pacing as much, but a lot of people are saying similar things so Idk.

I laughed at this for some reason

I'll see what I think of it but this will be my guess on reading things that maybe they should have left out somethings i'm leaning more towards world building but I don't know and that they probably should have introduced Harry in tasm

I think multiple viewings is good im can vouch for that

I don't know why some of you guys are having this impression. Nobody has said that. They said don't expect the classic line up of the Six. And when you watch TASM 2 they wave Ock's tentacles in your face twice.

I can't see why they'd be showing Ock's arms if they are not interested in using him. Especially when you watch the end of the movie [BLACKOUT]and Harry and Fiers are talking about setting up a gang of super villains, and they talk about their cache of villain tech they have. Harry tells Fiers to set up Rhino first, and you see Fiers walk past Ock's arms and Vulture's wings before he gets to the Rhino suit. Rhino was not part of the classic Six so that's obviously what they mean when they said don't expect the classic Six line up.[/BLACKOUT]

Agreed :yay: Im hoping i can digest the film more on the second visit also.

If there are a few spectacular action moments and the quasi-teen stutter speak is at a minimum and the two leads are great I will gladly settle for "good not great".

I only just heard that 15 mins ago so I was like WTF?

I think it's good that he feels like a "pawn", or someone who is cheesy craving for attention. That's who Electro is! lol. If he feels like that, I'm gonna love it.

sometimes i wonder how much of meddling the suits put in over these movies. i just get the vibe like there is a concerted effort to partially recreate some of the brush strokes of the raimi trilogy. Like the whole rallying new yorker thing. then the suit went back to essentially the raimi version.

i cant help but imagine some exectutive with a boiled down "formula" of what made the raimi movies profitable and going through his checklist. we need more cheese! they liked campiness!

I felt like "The Suits" meddled in pretty well with the first TASM:

"Oooh, people loved Nolan's Batman movies, so let's make this one darker! And while we're at it, let's make Peter obsessed about his parents, like Batman! Even though we can't put Spidey or his parents in an Avengers movie! Uncle Ben WHO? Peter's parents are more important!"

"Oooh, but people also loved the first two Raimi movies, so let's repeat several of the plot points from the first movie! Let's make the villain a green guy who loses his funding for his research, thus leading him to test his work on himself, thus leading to bad consequences! Ooops!"

"Oooh, teenage girls liked Twilight, so let's make Peter Parker a 'bad boy' type to make him more attractive for girls! While we're at it, let's give him the same hairdo as Edward Cullen! And let's have Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone channel Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart by stuttering and twitching at each other! And skateboards! Teenagers think skateboarding is kewl!"

People rag on Spider-Man 3, because the suits meddled in enough to shoehorn Venom into the film (which they totally did, I cannot deny). The first TASM is guilty of this same stuff, in my opinion. Watching the first TASM was an irritating experience for me, because I could almost hear the suits talking over the movie. I know many disagree with me on this, but whatever. My opinion; don't expect anyone to agree with me.

Yea he really did have that " crave attension " thing going on. I actually liked his voice in the cinema . it had a nice electrical boom tint.

I can hear it in one of the clips. Has like a crackle to it huh. Sounds very nice.

C'mon it's Electro! Sure he was marketed as the main villain or someone who can be badass but if they nailed Electro's essence, good job Marc.

Oh! I can't believe I haven't asked this question yet!

What do we see of Peter's web shooters? Do we ever see him with it on, when he's not in suit so you can see it's' bracelets?
