The American Flag!!!

Anyone who had problems with it are America haters that have no homeland pride ... also they have no fun Superhero over the top sensibilities and have no business buying a ticket.

Maybe Brockback Mountain is more there speed.

Im just sayin.:cwink:

Spidey 3 Rocked!!!!

Ha! An American hero defending his American city? Please...the guy didn't decide to act until after wasting 5 minutes watching all the anarchy unfold on the tv screen and finding out that the hostage they had mentioned a minute earlier was actually MJ. This American hero wasn't there to save his American city. He was only there to save MJ's ****ty American ass.

Did Spidey stop fighting after he saved her???
Ahhhh.....No.:whatever:

:spidey:

Three more movies to ***** and moan about.

After he saved her, he went to help Harry. It was the least he could do. After that, he got his ass kicked all over the place. So actually, he wasn't really fighting. He was being used as a punching bag.

But he did stop saving people after rescuing Gwen...

Poor guy in the crane and the dozens of other people in the building.

Me and Osama Bin Laden loved it. :D

Seriously, I was more offended when Perry White said..."Truth, Justice and all that stuff" instead of the 'American Way.' Ironically, overseas is where most of these type of American movies with patriotism in them, make their biggest box office numbers. So, I think it bothers Americans more than it does foreign countries.

That's why me and my boy Osama don't like you. :o

U don't know that...
It just didn't show it.:cwink:

Just hear me out...

I know that the flag shot in spider-man 3 is pretty much hated : considered corny, cheesy, unnecceasry and of course, alienating to other countries...

But what were peoples initial reactions when they saw that shot in the actual trailer??
bad

so bad, it wasn't in all the trailers released. I just thought the cgi itself was dogdy and it was made to tie in with a jump he did earlier and it was all just off...

meh...

I was indifferent, I didn't react one way or another. I just wanted to get to see the final battle!

:spidey: :gg: vs :sym: :yellow:

My thoughts exactely. And if anyone is actually embarassed to be an American than move and stop your *****ing. You know, there are PLENTY of worse places to live.

I barely noticed the American flag shot after all of the other cheese that was thrown my way. The dancing Parker made me cringe ... :o

Whatever, it was badass. *****ing about a little patriotism in a movie is like *****ing about an accent, it's ****ing pointless. Spiderman is an American made superhero based in what is without a doubt the defining city of the USA, New York. If anyone in Europe or China is actually offended by a shot of Spidey swinging in front of an American flag, then they can make their own damn iconic superhero and swing them in front of their flag. And I won't ***** about it, because it'll be their hero and their flag. Do I not like Godzilla because it takes place in Japan and American bombs caused him to exist? No, I ****ing love Godzilla.
I'm a bleeding heart liberal and I agree with this. Spider-man is our hero.

Spidey's an American hero, and Sam Raimi is an American. Deal with it!
Yeah I know! Its not a big deal..when I see it I just don't care...its just there. Spider-man lives in America so if you happen to see the American flag in the movie for like 3 seconds and that makes you feel "alienated"...maybe you need a little psychological therapy, its only a suggestion :o

I don't think anybody takes issue with the scene as far as Spider-Mans nationality goes. Of course the story takes place in the United States.

But nationality isn't really a keystone of the character. The story would translate just as well to France, Spain, the UK, etc.

So seeing the flag crammed down our throats in such a ham fisted manner is the problem. Nobody is saying 'OH MY GOD WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST MAKE A FICTIONAL COUNTRY FOR HIM TO LIVE IN! NOT EVERYBODY CAN IDENTIFY WITH HIM NOW!'

When I saw the flag in SM3 I thought they were trying to say "the war in Iraq is just, and we're coming for your country next!". I was... offended, to say the least.
