It all comes around.

KaptainKrypton said:At times it has. But it goes in cycles. I remember (as I'm sure you do) of the negative/positive fervor upon the release of the first suit pic. Even if I get into a heated discussion, I try (but don't always succeed) in keeping it at least semi-civil. People are human, though, so I expect a little discontent every now and again. My kill reflex goes into overdrive at the mention of Smallville. I may need therapy to cure my hatred of that show.
Thanks...but apparently we are all insane.Showtime029 said:The arguments really are textbook on these boards, it's almost as if you know what's going to happen before it does. What you have written above is almost like a script to the back and forth on these boards.
Then when you or another MOD steps in, whatever you do is wrong. "You're biased", "You're unfair", "You're wrong". You can't win my man, but I know all of you do your best.

First poster PMs me and complains about being called a name.
Second poster PMs me and complains about being called a name.
Before I can get here...the two posters have spent three pages calling each other bad names and have now drawn several other posters into the argument.
I show up...tell people to stop arguing....and get called a Nazi for not allowing the sweet little angles here to freely express themselves.

I talk to people on the net...as if they are sitting across the table from me. I say nothing to people here that I wouldn't have the guts to say to thier face without a fence between us. Too many others use the aninimity of the net to be as rude as they can.

It's quite common, people on the phone or on the internet will put on a show, but you'll see the same people tip toeing past you on a quiet road. It's amazing.

It was closed because of...lack of civility.
Matt said:I've been on this site a long time (6 years), and never have a seen a group as militant as the fans of Bryan Singer and Superman Returns...and I was here for the 'organics' debate...so I have seen some militant fanboys.
Not that other groups have not caused trouble...but I do believe that is the number one reason the Superman boards have become such an unhappy place.
The Game said:Dunno dude, the anti organic crew were pretty wild.
Matt said:They were, but it was a smaller, more intiment enviroment at the time. There were only about 20 to 50 regulars. Everyone knew each other and were civil with one another while debating. The only ones who weren't were Mr. Parker and Bakerboy.
Here however, you had about 300 people forming lynch mobs to take down anyone who said anything bad about the movie.
The Game said:When was that thread ever civil? its was just a place for fans of just about every film ever made to use numbers to justify why their film was better.

Showtime029 said:I guess I don't really understand the split between DC and Marvel. I lean more towards DC myself, but not because I hate Marvel, it's just where I started and am more comfortable. Same reason I stay around the Superman boards, and Superman Returns. I go to the Batman or Spiderman boards and I am out of my element.
