As excited as I am for this movie, I gotta say my excitement would pretty much triple if we were getting this movie...

this poster fails on so many levels...

no its safe to assume Nortons not in the movie. lol

Thanks for the support :yay: (God, I love the internet)

Question, is it safe to assume you're in the anti-Norton crowd? Or maybe you just don't like John Powell...
no. I loved Norton as Banner, but that's history. It's not going to happen. Also you're missing ScarJo on the poster. Just because you don't like her (for what ever reasons)doesn't make her go away...
Then there are a few other things that are just wrong, but that's kinda nitpicky anyway

That may be the worst tagline ever. LOL.

I can understand why they didn't make a showing at SDCC '11, but they could've given us something, instead of being a no-show at one of the year's biggest con.

Hey, those huge character portrait posters that could be put together to make a giant Avengers banner weren't nothing.

Does anyone think we'll get a new trailer by the holidays? I can see something coming out during Sherlock Holmes 2.

My best guess (since I haven't received any info on when the full version comes out) would be somewhere around Thor's DVD release. At worst - somewhere in December.

I don't think they'll have something for us closer to D23, but there's always a bit of hope.

I can see the teaser with Cap coming out during D23..... with maybe things like movie screen caps or something....

I feel like it'll be in December simply because they're still filming. I think it's a miracle that they even managed to get the teaser with Cap. But Thor would be great too!

I would've said the same, if I haven't had a talk recently with someone from Disney. As I've been told, somehow Paramount isn't fully satisfied with that 50/50 deal with Disney & they're still trying to have some kind of control over the Avengers movie (that's why the logo is on the poster & that's why Yahoo was forced to cut the trailer in pieces).

Originally, the full version of the trailer was supposed to premiere according to the plan - on 29th of July, but that's totally not Disney's fault, that Paramount had some kind of unbelievable & pointless change of hearts.

Some details, concerning the presence of Marvel's The Avengers at D23 Expo from Disney's representative:

On what to expect from Marvel Studios

On why Marvel Studios decided to move their promotion to D23 rather than to SDCC'11

On the possibility of some of the cast members appearing at the Expo

On what else's Marvel has for D23
Awesome!!

LOL Money is probably the cause of the change of heart. i think they see the potential of this being a cash cow

If I helped Marvel building the MCU and paved the road to Avengers, I'd be pissed if they told me that another company will distribute the movie. It's perectly understandable that Paramount wants their piece of the cake.

I agree.

and Paramount has been a fantastic distribution steward. IMO

Well, if Paramount & Disney already signed an agreement for the 50/50 deal, can Paramount still object to it? They might not like it after they inked the deal, but won't they have to honor it anyway? I understand that Paramount has been instrumental in distributing all those Marvel Studios movies, and I can't fault them for wanting a bigger piece of the pie. But Marvel is part of Disney now, so Disney obviously wants more control after shelling out 4 billion in their acquisition of Marvel Entertainment.

Not entirely pointless. If Yahoo had shown the full clip there's a little less incentive for punters to go watch Captain America and see it in the theatres. In fact, they used the Yahoo snips to promote that 'only in theatres' deal.
I have no idea just how many people would really go see a film they might otherwise pass on just to see an Avengers teaser, but that seems to be the reason behind it.

Interesting. I hope Paramount does get to retain most of the control, but at the end of the day I'm still happy Disney and Marvel are in the same family. They pay-off has been fantastic so far.

I'll admit, the fact that I was going to see an Avengers clip with the film made me that much more excited to see Cap. And at the end I think the teaser was more exciting than Cap was.

The Avengers Teaser with Cap is part of the movie & actually on the reel right ? Then if it is it will at least be on the DVD & Blu-Ray releases & Thor is on DVD next month on the 13th according to Amazon :o

The reason I posted the FAN-ART was to emphasize the point that while I'm excited to see the movie with Ruffalo, I'd be much more excited to see it if Norton was back. As for ScarJo's visual absence, again, its FAN-ART. I didn't make it to try and sell it to Marvel. I like ScarJo, but I don't see her as a headliner in this movie, specially with the talent surrounding her. As for the other things that are "just wrong", fill me with your acumen, please.

I can tell you that it's too wordy with all of the "what the heroes didn't know" etc. It's just not punchy enough. Who wants to read an essay on a poster?

Even though Norton was the best thing about TIH to me, I expect to see much more Hulk than Banner in Avengers, so I can get over that.
