No, Fury wants Ross to release Blonsky in order for him to join The Avengers. Sitwell and Coulson dont want Blonsky in the team so they conspire against Fury by sending Stark in to annoy Ross to the core so when Stark tells him they want Blonsky released he would give him a big no. Pretty simple way of explaining that scene simply. Im down with it.

Well this definitely puts a new and unexpected twist on things, to say the least.

I would have NEVER imagined that Fury would want to recruit Blonsky for the group, especially considering on what he did in 'TIH'. Though this would definitely go with the "morally shade of gray" that people have said that Fury's character can be about at times. Plus, the Hulk's bout with Blonsky in New York City, proved that the Hulk is physically superior to him, and Bruce Banner has a more stable mind than Blonsky.

Be that as it may, why would Fury need the General's permission? I mean, isn't Fury's position more higher than General Ross's?

Though this does also put Coulson in a new shade of light as well.lol I never thought that he'd be the type of person to disobey Fury's orders.

Fury might want Blonsky on his team as a deception expert to be able to tell when someone is lying and perhaps flush out the Skrulls.

Even IF he wanted him on that team for that, I would think that Blonsky would be more of a Liability than he would be as a asset. I mean he's not like Tony who has a attitude against Authority, Blonsky murdered several people and went on a rampage throughout New York, despite orders.

I'm pretty sure that was a 'Lie to Me' joke.

It was indeed. :cwink:

I wouldn't mind seeing Kelli Williams in a role. She's still pretty hot even if she's a bit older. She seems like she could be some SHIELD consultant or Banner's psychologist.

Maybe Monica Raymund could be Monica Rambeau (aka Photon/ Captain Marvel).

Brendan Hines could be Banner in the new Hulk tv series.

What's "lie to me"?lol

In any case, I hope we get something that hopefully officially proves that the reason why Nick Fury has been gathering so many people wasn't because of the Hulk as some have suggested.

Thanks!

I love that Coulson was being manipulative and steering the development of The Avengers as he saw fit. This puts a new spin on the character. I wonder whether Coulson felt that Blonsky was too volatile and violent to be used, so pushed them towards the Hulk on the assumption that Banner's alter ego could be managed more easily. He'll find out about that later on.

Hopefully this will lead to an even more active role for Coulson in The Avengers, and in the rumored SHIELD film. I'm even looking forward to seeing him as Peter Parker's priggish principal in Ultimate Spidey. :word:

A tv show with Tim Roth as a deception expert/ human lie detector. Unfortunately it was cancelled after 3 seasons but it was always cool and fascinating to watch.

It does put a new spin on the character, that's for sure. I kind of like the fact that they're allowing to show more of active side to the character, just like they did in "Thor".

I only saw a bit of the first season, and I loved it.

Was it canceled before or after the finale of the third season? Like, did they have a conclusion, or just cut it off, like Firefly.

I think the 3rd season had a shorter run of episodes, but I don't think there was a conclusion as such because they probably were hoping to be renewed for a fourth, but sadly that wasn't the case. :(

Tim Roth would be great to have back in The Avengers, especially after seeing him in Lie to Me on a weekly basis.

I love the idea of Coulson going behind Fury's back to not get Blonsky on the team. Plus I love the fact they're acknowledging TIH.

Indeed; it does show that Coulson is perhaps a better judge of character as well.

I wonder if Yahoo has a contact email so that we can ask why they cut the Teaser

You know, the strangest thing is that, we've yet to really receive an official Film Still from the film itself.:oldrazz:

I mean the screenshots that we have right now are really from a shorter version of the Post Credit Teaser at the end of CA, which also brings me to the fact that we have yet to receive an officially released teaser online as well.lol

All in the while, both TDKR and Spiderman have had both film stills AND Teasers released officially online, and they're films that will be released LATER than the Avengers.lol

Does anyone see something wrong with this?lol

No because The Avengers has been 'advertised' in some capacity since 2008. People know it's coming and when whatever promotion hits, we will lap it up.

So guys, I thought I'd share the theory I'm rocking at the moment...

Either Derek Luke's character is actually Nick Fury's father, orrrrrr they are potentially going with the infinity formula thing and that IS Fury.

I can't see any other reason why Derek Luke's involvement was kinda kept fairly secretive in Avengers. There's got to be some significance to that character, and it could definitely be the thing that enables Cap to trust Fury.

Im thinking he might be in old man makeup. Being the only member of the Commandos still alive.

I would mind infinity formula though. Maybe be Dum Dum back, he was underused
