I wonder if the final battle of the film will be the entire Avengers going up against one singular "Big Bad' villain, or if it'll just consist of them going up against several aliens all at once?

hmmmm Leviathan....could Loki's army be the Atlanteans???

I'm loving all the suites, people need to get over minor or some changes, its on film now grow a set and get over it.
We should be happy this film is getting made at all than combing over each image for something to rip into!

Just because the movie's being made we should accept everything even if we don't like it? Sorry but that's a very naive way of thinking.

Mostly all the pics we've seen are all out in daylight, so maybe everything will look better on screen when they do editing.

It gets old after about thirty pages. Makes me wish they had filmed the entire movie on a soundstage so there wouldn't be photos to pick apart for eight months.

Can we be sure it's a real Leviathan we're talking about? Someone mentioned it could just be a code for Fing Fang Foom or some other Marvel related monster..

Well what can you do, moaning isn't going to change anything, if you don't like it don't go see it.
I just think repeating over and over "oh the colour is off" "that material is bad" "thats not like the comics" is wearing very very thin.
Naive .. perhaps, but I am just happy and excited to see it all come together.
You can't change things that are totally out of your hands and which you never had any input in to start with.

"Leviathan" could refer to practically anything. It could simply be a code word for some villain or visual element (like a spaceship) that the producers didn't want to name in case someone got their hands on the call sheet. Smart move, if that's what they did.

this is a message board...for discussing likes and dislike with the film

But you'd think after what 20+ parts people would just get over it.
Moaning won't change a thing.
I'm all for opinions but its just repeating the same old stuff now and it looks really sad.

Yes, Leviathan could also refer to the alien starship, not only to a specific invader. Whatever it is, it gets me excited and is something new to speculate.

Well, when you word it like that, you make it sound so civilised...

^^^This.

Many of us have waited quite a few years to see The Avengers come to the big screen. No movie is ever going to satisfy all of the fans and this is no exception. Although I have had my doubts about some things (like Whedon's skills) I prefer to take a wait and see attitude.

We can't know how the costumes will really come across in the film until we actually see them onscreen. I can remember a lot of similar moaning about Cap's costume in CA:TFA and set photos from Thor, which were deemed cheesy by some. We know how that worked out. I feel that it's better to wait until we have a finished product before I judge things and get all bent out of shape. But that's just me.

Over at another site someone tweeted that the sfx people mentioned the Avengers fighting a sea monster called leviathan.

no one is trying to change a thing...we are discussing the costumes

For the record, it's not just you.

I'm loving all the set pics! Thanks, guys, for finding and posting them. I admit that reading this thread is one of the highlights of my day right now.

Also, and completely unimportantly, I like that we finally have an idea of how many cars Tony owns. If the Acura is his newest one, he's at 33. The more you know, lol.

so lets just stop talking about the film until it comes out

Exactly, that's what this place is for, no one is saying Cap's suit is going to ruin the whole movie for them but they're free to express they're dislike for it. To add, I don't think anyone is just outright saying 'It's crap', people are actually discussing the areas they dislike, what could be improved and how it can be improved, it's far more civilised than some 'discussions' I've seen around here.

I hope it's either the big boss or a starship. From the fact that Cap's costume is clean and he obviously hasn't been through the Battle of Cleveland yet, I assume the scenes shot over the weekend are from the beginning of the invasion. So perhaps the "leviathan" coming in from space took out the Quinjet, forcing the heroes to go off and confront it.

This leads me to wonder where the scene with Cap (and Stan the Man) in the restaurant as it is bombed ties in. The script breakdown said that a waitress flirted with Cap, then fled the bombing. In the Cleveland fight sequences, we saw a woman in a waitress's uniform standing amidst the rubble, looking skyward. She seemed to have been through some sort of fight, which tallies with the cafe explosion scenes.

exactly. there are things that even I like about cap's costume. like, there is a big white A on the forehead and a star on the chest. Also, I'm glad there are no 3D wings on the helmet. I believe the zip in the red white aream migh get edited out in post, so I have no big trouble with that. Still, there are parts I don't like and I think the suit would improve if those parts change in the sequel (or Cap 2, although I hope Cap 2 is set in the past again)
