Hulk isn't anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. I for one really like that movie along with TIH.

There are only two issues I had with Ang Lee's Hulk:

1.) Talbot's Death - It was straight up a little too cartoony and cheesy to me. I think I'd stated something at the time that I'd watched a Godzilla movie where the immolation of a monster was handled in a more serious, yet not at all gruesome manner that they should have used in this movie. That little moment took me right out of the film for a moment.

2.) The ending after the San Francisco rampage - The confrontation between Hulk and Absorbing Dad seemed a little too tacked on for my taste. I felt the movie ended pretty tightly with the conclusion of the San Francisco rampage and that's where it should have ended.

Thanks. Looks like dailies to all the Marvel/Disney execs show Whedon is actually delivering what he does best...character interaction. At least translating to big screen. Very encouraging.

As long as story doesn't alltogether suck, he just got to pull it all together (ie. cinematography, etc.).

Well like Tom said in one of his recent interviews, the Avengers is more like a sequel to BIG Three films and isn’t just the continuation of the events of one film, so that’s enough to warrant as to why no single hero should be given the main spotlight of things like some characters were in the X Men franchise.lol

Also, why make a film about one hero prior to the Avengers if they were just going to take up the spotlight again in the Avengers?lol

I don't understand why Feige says that the best Avengers comics are the ones where they don't have a leader. Since when? From what Whedon and others have said, I thought that Cap was going to emerge as the leader after a power struggle with Stark. The script writers for CA:TFA said that they purposely had the movie span WWII so that Cap would be a seasoned and credible leader in The Avengers. That makes sense in light of the characters' established personae and the team's history in the comics.

When do the Avengers not have a leader? Does he maybe mean the earlier stories before Cap came on? I mean, Iron Man founded the team but was there ever an official leader or chairman before Cap?

Also Fury being sort of in charge didn't come around until Ultimates. In fact, the Avengers were always independent of SHIELD beforehand, but at one point they were officially funded by the government.

I'm okay with the idea of letting Fury run the ship first, and let Cap, Thor, and IM all trying to figure out who the leader should be. But Capt. America is the leader in the comics, and he should be the leader in the movie as well, at least toward the end of the film.

I thought that Bana's Banner had a darkness to him that fit the Hulk to a tee. There was something about that guy that was always on the verge, skating on the edge of madness. He knew it, too, and embraced it, which made him seem a lot more dangerous than Norton's Banner.

Still to this day Hulk is in my top favourite CB movies, I loved it from my first viewing and every time I have re-watched it since I have loved it more, its a great little movie that would have done much better in a post BB and TDK world IMO.

TIH was just a straight up action flick, with little to no depth, had they left the deleted scene's in, it would have been a much better movie.

Even before he became Hulk in Hulk though there always seemed to be something boiling with Banner, he always seemed on edge. I know thats how the character was written but I thought Bana conveyed it brilliantly.

But even when he became the Hulk, he stayed pretty calm, like his first transformation in the movie in the factory, he didnt even seem that angry or panicked, it was like he was telling children off for upsetting his dog. With Bana, you could feel the rage boiling within him and then when he unleashed it, it seemed real and genuine, and, best of all, quite scary.

I think what Feige is saying there, going by what follows in his quote, is that the best Avengers comics are when no single character hogs most of the limelight, saves the day pretty much on their own, etc.

That was one of the best parts for me, his pulse monitor helped as well, as if he had a range that he knew he had to stay in, pushed beyond it and he was in touble....


I would love to see aspects of that continued in the new Ruffalow characterization



I loved Norton, and yes Ruffalow generally plays layed back hippie types but I think he can pull off intensity....



as to his line of ..."thanks" to Stark, I liked that he played it casual. It would be most interesting if the loaner banner seemed rather unimpressed by the Avengers knowing he himself carries a one man army within.
