Danoyse, for starters, publicly threatening me doesn't exactly add much needed maturity to the atmosphere of this thread. You shouldn't address me like a child. I've dealt with you before in the X-Men forum & your concept of moderating is pretty much "Stop having an opinion that doesn't sit well with others or I will punish you." Not exactly the best way to represent a message board as a moderator (if you ask me). Now, this is NOT the "Marvel Studios Support thread" where any negative comment about the studio is grounds for punishment. This is the "Avengers News & Speculation thread". Mickey Rourke recently spoke out on Marvel's poor judgment with IM2 & a poster here brought it up. I agree with Mickey. Most people here don't. You can't come after me the way you are because I agree with Mickey. I have the right as a poster here to dislike the way the studio is handling these movies. Posters here don't like that because they take my negative opinions on the MCU personally. You as a Mod can't possibly do so too.
You must admit that phrasing opinions like facts isn't particularly mature, right? You'd probably also get better responses if you actually backed up what you said like people asked of you. Most recently you were asked to show interviews with Chris Evans where he says he's just in it for the money.

Really? That young? I didn't realise he hid it for that long. I knew he kept it under wraps for a while, but that must have been quite the feat.

Apparently it started right around the time BTTF part 3 came out, while he was shooting Doc Hollywood. It wasn't diagnosed until the year after, though, but still.

It was young-onset Parkinson's. He started showing symptoms at 29, and was officially diagnosed when was 30. The way the disease progresses, it's likely he had it the whole time he was doing Family Ties and the BTTF movies and just didn't know it.

He went public with it in 1998, started his foundation in 2000, and they've done some amazing work. Hopefully there will be a cure someday.

It's not because of your opinion you're being told to stop. It's the fact that you're a jerk to anyone who doesn't share it.

But it doesn't make the name-calling justified, so let's not call anyone a jerk, please.

You know, I had a lot of respect for the guy because not only is he one of my cinematic heroes, but he's managed to do that throughout the time he's suffered from Parkinsons. But this kinda put that extra spin on it. I really hope his foundation provides some real help to the condition and that we can see more of him in the future.

Alexei, we will stop addressing you like a child as soon as you stop acting like one.

Our job as moderators is to make sure everyone follows the rules of this forum - this includes respecting the opinon of others (even if you disagree) and treating the other members of the forum respectfully. You have been warned multiple times that this high and mighty attitude you repeatedly display towards everyone else on this forum has been disrespectful and unaccceptable. Yet, you continue to do it. Quite frankly, we're tired of it.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion and you can express your dislike with any movie or studio that you wish. However, your opinion is not fact or proof of fact, so there is no need to 'educate' others the way you consistently do.

These are movies, they are not real life. Chill out.

There are plenty of opinions on this forum, the X-Men forum, and every other forum here that I disagree with. People only get punished when they show disrespect to others or disobey forum rules.

If you haven't figured out that that is what you are consistently doing, then there's not too much more we're going to be able to do for you if you do not improve your attitude.

No, posters here don't like that because you keep being a big giant *****e about it. Try to get that in your head.

Again - the name calling is not acceptable. Knock it off.

Iron Man's opening weekend was FAR bigger than Thor's and Cap's so the fact that it made more money doesn't have anything to do with it being a better film.

Not to mention that Thor did comparable numbers at the total foreign box office.:word:

So what are the chances we're getting a superbowl spot?

He was my first little tween crush (I was 8 when Family Ties started, and 11 when the first BTTF came out), so I grew up with him. He's a pretty damn amazing guy, you should definitely check out his books and see some of the stuff they've done on the Team Fox site for Parkinson's research. Incredible stuff, the progress they've made wouldn't have been possible without him.

Very, very likely. Superbowl spots are expensive, as far as cost for the amount of time, but nothing that Disney wouldn't be willing to pay. It's 3 million for 30 seconds, if I recall.

Hell, with the way Disney markets, I wouldn't be insanely surprised if they decided to risk a 60 second spot, but that's less likely.

Indeed. Apparently he won a Grammy for one of his books.

Also, his books have freaking awesome titles.

I definitely think there will be a Superbowl spot.

Sweet. I'll look into those. I grew up with the Back to the Future MJF. Always one of my most cherished memories was seeing the promo to part III at the end of II (well that's all I can remember of the cinema experience at that age lol).

Edit: Now that people mention it, I think a Superbowl spot would be great. I wonder if it could pull the sort of numbers Cap did?

Yeah, there's no way that they'd pulled all the stops for this movie, and then decide NOT to give us a Superbowl TV spot. I'm sure TDKR and ASM will have spots on Superbowl, as well.

Next year is going to have a lot of cool stuff in it, that's for sure. The Avengers Assemble, Spider-Man making a new debut, and Batman gets a third film that likely WON'T suck. And for a cherry on top, Judge Dredd making a triumphant return.

Hopefully. I've got high hopes, but news about it is little and far between and the debacle of the confusion over the last piece of news probably doesn't help things. I really hope the tone of the film hits the mark. Dredd can potentially be another TDK if they handle him properly.

Also, have you heard that another 2000A.D. alumni Rogue Trooper has apparently been picked up by Sam Worthington's production company? At least I think it's his. It was on the Hype's front page not long ago. This one I think has great potential, especially in today's current world with the various wars and politics going on. A really intelligent writer could make something awesome out of this.

Well, it doesn't come out for 10 months. I doubt they've even finished shooting at this point.

Agreed. That's most likely our next glimpse of footage.

Unrelated: I heart your sig quote (and King for saying it).

Thank you. King re-emerged as my literary hero when he said that.

Superbowl seems most likely for the next big spot. I can't see them skipping it - they did have ads for Cap and Thor during the last Superbowl.
