A marvel character still hasnt appeared on castle yet. Several were mentioned though

There's one thing that I don't get.

On the Avengers site, for Loki's bio, it says that Loki's invasion of Earth is motivated by his desire to gain revenge on his brother.

If revenge were a factor here, considering on how Loki has no issues in traveling between Earth and Asgard as shown in "Thor", why doesn't Loki just go after Asgard first instead of subjugating Earth, a planet that he didn't seem to have any quarrel with previously.

earth is much more vulnerable than asgard and messing it up would really piss off thor

Speaking of which, I wish that idea/concept would have had been given more time to explore and develop in "Thor", since they spent so much time emphasizing on how Thor was worried about the safety of Asgard, along with establishing on how arrogant his character was at first, that it felt a little out of the blue when it was established that Thor had a personal interest in protecting the planet that wasn't perhaps partially motivated by his newfound love and companionship in Jane Foster and company.

Asgard still has Odin as it's king, who is more powerful than both Thor and Loki plus it has all the other 'Gods' there, making it much more difficult.

Thor's desire to protect Midgard is hardly out of the blue. Loki is an Asgardian so whatever harm he causes in the other realms is Thor's responsibility, as well as Odin's. Historically, Odin and the armies of Asgard fought to protect Earth from incursion by the Jotuns and perhaps other species. It isn't a stretch to assume that Odin would react in a similar way if one of his own sons were leading an invasion of Midgard. There would also be the aforementioned sense of responsibility and even guilt over Loki's actions because he was motivated by the thirst for revenge against his father and brother.

All of that gives Thor a powerful set of reasons to come to Earth's defense when Loki attacks. Thor's motivation goes far beyond his attraction to Jane Foster. Family responsibility, personal honor and princely duty would all figure in. Since Midgard is one of the Nine Realms there might also be diplomatic considerations, as with the Jotuns. One prince of Asgard is attempting to conquer Midgard, so the other has to be dispatched to stop him.

Good points. I hadn't thought about it that way. Thanks for explaining.:yay:

Well, I'm pretty confident about one thing though, unless there's a huge plot hole lying around...that for whatever reason unknown at the moment, I'd figure that Thor would be unable to communicate or bring anyone from Asgard during the events of "The Avengers", since it would have made sense that if an army comprised of beings from the nine realms was attacking Midguard, that Thor would dispatch Asgard's army to come to Earth's aid and lead them rather than taking the chance of having to work with a team that he's at first unfamiliar with.

Man, I hope January brushes by very fast, since I'm confident that we'll get another trailer sometime in January-February, with March being the very latest.

I hope they mention that Thor is unable to communicate with the Asgardians. Why does Loki only have the power to travel interdimensionally, doesn't Thor have this power to, so couldn't he spin his hammer and get back to Asgard?

Loki has mastered sorcery in Asgaurd, something Thor has yet to do.

Yes the Hammer has powers, Powers that perhaps even THor at this point has not fully mastered

Yeah but I'm sure most are enchantments like what Odin Placed on it. We did hear him say it and "help build", that can mean all kinds of things knowing Odin.

I think I've got it! Loki's alien army is comprised of the Daleks!

Yeah, I hope we see Thor using some of Mjolnir's more elaborate powers in The Avengers, Thor 2, and Thor 3.

Odin would kick his ass?

I remember Tom Hiddleston talking about Loki not feeling like has a place in the world and trying to fill that empty void by conquering Earth.

Regarding that interview with the Disney worker posted earlier: Who still hates the idea of Disney owning Marvel? It's been nothing but positive so far. & it will probably only get better. *imagines Marvel park at Disney World*

I think Marvel has a better chance appearing at Disneyland or California Adventure (the adjecture Disney theme park) than Disney World, due to the fact that Marvel has a place over at Orlando's Universal Studio and the copyright thing will probably prevent Disney from making a Marveland at the nearby Disney World.

Well Odin clearly used the Hammer to open up a portal to Earth to banish Thor in the first place soooooooooooooooo....

Yeah it can open up interdimensional holes.... but that was fueled by a banishment manipulation/spell..... what ever you want to call it.

That damn contract has to end eventually! :argh:

& if it DOES end, Universal could always hook up with WB (like they did with Harry Potter) & transform the Marvel section into a DC section. The Doom ride can be a Green Lantern, Storm turns into Flash, Spidey's ride turns into a Batman one & Hulk turns into Superman.

i hope it never ends! islands of adventure is tons more fun than the two ride strip mall "theme park" disney would crank out

Wouldn't be the first time DC basically pallette swapped rides.

'WE'RE MAKING A WHOLE NEW RIDE!' *paints the Superman ride purple and blue* It's BIZARRO!

Actually, Odin used his staff to open the portal.

finally some interdimensional portal talk. i have been saying this for a while now. i think odin didn't tell thor about this ability or give it to him yet. since he was very rash and would rush off to whatever realm and fight whoever he wanted. starting all kinds of crap, like with the jotuns. but since he has matured a bit since then odin might clue him into the ability.

i would love to see thor open a portal.
