Basically the article is saying that Iron Man 3 will focus on the Extremis arc, something I've been asking for for quite a while! Couldn't be more excited.

While the Extremis storyline can mean quite a lot for the next Iron Man movie, I'm a little concerned with lines from the Latino Review article like "nanobots that make villains". Frankly I'd take any villain over a potential original nobody powered up. Hopefully there is a real villain in IM3.

Also I don't like the kind of language the Latino Review article uses. It's like it's saying "this isn't a rumour at all", which of course it is.

Yeah, I'm stoked for Extremis on the big screen. If we can't get Demon in a Bottle, this is a good one. I need to pull out my TPB and reread it.

I'll take the 2 hrs. and 15 mins run time. Hopefully, it won't feel too long or too short, but just right!

There is something in that article that is interesting. It mentions Cap's jabs at Tony for just being a guy in a suit of armour, and that could make Stark think about doing more.

I think the whole Extremis story line is very interesting. I'd like to see it blended with Director of SHIELD. I think Tony becoming Director of SHIELD would complete his arc from being a rogue playboy superhero who thinks he can do it all on his own, to realising that he can and should be more than that.

I'm just thinking though, there has to be more to it than that. If it's a subplot through out the movie that Cap doesn't think highly of Iron Man rather than just a bit of an argument then maybe I can buy Iron Man thinking about how he sees himself and how Cap and others perceive him, then realising he has to improve himself or at least up his game.

Though I'm just not sure how naturally he could go from that state of mind to what he becomes in Extremis. I haven't read the whole comic, so I don't know his motivations in that, so I don't know how much they could draw from that for his motivations. Also I don't think that doing something like becoming more of a cyborg would be a natural step for proving he's just more than a man in a suit. Sure it sounds like "hey, you have no powers", but it should mean something deeper than that (which I believe it does in the trailer), like "how much of a person are you without your toys". So I don't think it should be a simple as that.

Which I think will play a part in his relationship with Cap anyway. Here he is, this living legend, who i'm sure Stark has heard stories about from his father. Might make him feel insecure, and he hides that insecurity with a snarky, irreverent façade. But deep down it gets to him.

Sure. I'm not saying it shouldn't happen, I'd like to see it myself, but I just don't want to see Stark immediately go to Extremis as an answer. Maybe it doesn't even need to be his decision to use Extremis on himself, but the story arc of his doubts and insecurity and the need to prove himself to people like Cap (or even just himself) could run concurrently and intertwine in some way. Just my opinion though.

i personally feel that story would be handled great with mandarin... I know he's not a sorcerer.. but if they create his rings to be of alien or asgardian tech.. then it would test IronMan's skill and beliefs of "science versus magic" The Makluuan science in the comics, is so vast, that you can't compare it to anything on earth.

i'd honestly prefer tony to face something like this.. if he needs to create the extremis armor to do it.. then so be it. But I think the whole Science vs "magic" is what tony needs to deal with. His head is too grounded

I might considering getting an Avengers T-shirt like this, which I can wear when I'm not attending a screening for the movie. I've purchased T-shirts that I just can't bring myself to wear later on because of how campy it is.
