It's common knowledge that I love Scar Jo, but if that is a her 'do' in Avengers, I will miss those flowing curly locks...

I must be one of the only people in the world who's never really found her particularly attractive (I'd say the Island is the movie were I've found her to be at her best). Now, I saw X-Men:FC last night (which was absolutely excellent, by the way. Just excellent) and the likes of January Jones certainly floats my boat; ScarJo, not so much.
I'm with you. In the Island she was amazing but other than that... she's beautiful but i'm not crazy about her.

January Jones though... I love that woman!

Not to forget Red Guardian, of course; being that she was married to him and all (or has that been ret-conned or something?)
I have no idea.

Scarlett looking fine as all hell as usual.

It's pretty cool to see the cast out.

If you have a thing for the bulemic looking type, then yes, she looks fine. But if you're over 14 then, no, she looks like posh spice. which is not a good thing. not at all. her head looks way to big for her body.
how someone could find that attractive is...fascinating and disgusting the same time.

She's on the slim side but she is nothing like Victoria Beckham in that picture. I understand your revulsion for the current 'super skinny' trend but you're taking it to the opposite extreme now. You're just overreacting because she's skinnier than usual.

Understandably, she had to lose weight to play Black Widow, and I hope ScarJo is back to her old self later. It'd be a shame if she too succumbed to Hollywood's obsession with thinness.

I'd go along with that. She's certainly no 'How many ribs can you count?' size-zero or anything, in fact, she actually just looks well toned to me.

I do find it a bit strange that we complain when actors dont get into shape for these roles but when an actress spends some time in the gym and achieve something like 'the superheroine body', we then complain that she's not no longer volumptuous.

The superheroine body is athletic AND volumptuous though. It is unnacceptable if a real life human being can't get a body like that!

The effect that cardiovascular conditioning has on body fat (a.k.a. volumptuousness)?

Pfft!!! Such biological trivialities matter not to fanboys :D

Scarlett said she lost a lot of body fat while training for Iron Man 2.

Well she did. Her boobs were no where near as big as usual in Iron Man 2.

and her body was near perfect in that movie (except for the loss of boobs obviously), but NOW? that's a whole new level.

I honestly dont see that much of a difference. She's still got some meat on her; she's certainly not a waif.

I'm with Jak, you're blowing things way out of proportion. THIS is a whole new level of thinness:

... and one that SJ is nowhere near.

It *is* possible for a woman to be thin without being labeled a scarecrow; too many guys over-exaggerate the anorexic nonsense.

Thanks Whiskey Tango I agree .. I am a woman and have a small build but I am healthy , its people who make those types of commments that make young girls and women feel that they have to be small, or look a certain way so they starve themselves or become obsessive over their looks...it disgusting and sad .... Scarlett is healthy looking and a good actress thats all that matters, and she will kicks ass in the avengers .

She looks about the same as she did in Iron Man 2.

Where? Except for chubby knees, I mean. I don't see it? And believe me, I searched. Couldn't find anything.
I do hope she gains some weight after Avengers.

Hmm, I see whiskey got there before me. :argh: :D Basically, he's said the same kind of things that I was about to say.

Put it this way - she doesnt look unhealthy or malnutritioned. She's got the kind of body that I'd expect from someone who was a perfectly healthy weight to start with before going on a strict diet and gym regimine.

There's no apparent muscle atrophy, she's still got reasonably thick legs (the kinda legs you get from a lot of training - thighs and calves still substantial), she's still relatively plentiful in the hip region but her waist, chest, shoulders and arms are simply more defined, as is her face;

Granted, its not everyones cup of tea because they prefer the more 'volumptuous' look but its like some are saying she has a problem. There's a massive difference to being toned and athletic (and more importantly healthy) than to being a size zero anorexic waif (like in those photos) who's 'succumed to the pressures of Hollywood' to look 'thin'.

It's no diffrent to an actor losing fat and gaining muscle for an action role.

Oh god i think i'm gonna be sick.

Exactly. Bit of a difference, no?

Damn good point;

I happen to think that she's got impressive results for the [obvious] gym time she's put in. I wonder how happy Scarlett herself would feel if she got told after all that work that she looked ill and unhealthy?
