I also thought the guy voicing Flash/Barry did great, I'd keep him for all future DTVs to be honest. They did a great job with him in that film.

(Although I wish they'd have kept that part where Superman tries to touch Flash but can't)

We get all kinds of stupid character bits added, but the awesome Flash moment they took out. I want to meet the person that made that decision.

McConaughey woul make a bad*** Flash. Think they'll go a bit younger though.

Yeah he's even older than Affleck, but I agree.

Cavill as Superman
Affleck as Batman
Gadot as Wonder Woman
McConaughey as Flash
The Rock as Green Lantern
The Phoenix as Luthor

And on the topic of the Flash voice actor in JL War, he was AWESOME. One of the best parts of the movie.

I think the Flash should be a bit younger.

My number one choice would be Ryan Gosling.

I don't come in this thread much at all, but I just watched the Flashpoint Paradox and DAMN the Flash is actually pretty cool. It was a great movie, and I appreciate the Flash a lot more now.

Why hasn't WB made a Flash solo film?? I think most of the GA thinks Marvel's got all the good stuff besides Superman/Batman, and a solid Flash film could help DC's image a lot....

I doubt the GA knows which is which, or cares.

WB/DC will do what they do when they need to do it

I dunno....I think most just see Marvel or DC as just some logos that come up in the beginning of films.

I used to think that. That the Marvel vs DC argument was only amongst geeks. But I think it's transcended into the general audience. Or at least into the kids, teens, and young adults of the general audience, which happens to make up the majority of the comic book movie viewers.

Especially in this day and age, where being geeky is celebrated and mainstream. Marvel is more than a logo now, it's synonymous with the type of movie you'll be getting. Same with DC. Most of my friends who don't care or read comic books know the differences between both companies, which heroes belong to which companies.

Whether we like it or not, DC products (TDK trilogy, MoS, Arrow) are known to be much more darker and adult. Marvel products are known for their lighthearted, fun approach.

Granted, the debate is still dumb. Both companies offer good products.

Back to the OP,

not sure if I've posted it in this particular thread but my choices are
related to which Flash shows up (and IMO there's nothing wrong with
having both of them, given the amount of time travel that goes on in
the Flash series).

For Barry

1. Chris Pine, he's got the look, and quite a bit of charm and humour,
which are essential parts of Barry's character.

2. Garrett Hedlund, also has the look, not quite as charming as Pine, but
believable as an earnest and likeable Barry.

3. Ryan Gosling, has the look, probably could carry off the humour, but
my only concern is that he may not have Barry's earnest moral centre.

4. Bradley Cooper, not quite the look, but he's got a lot of personality that would carry the film, and gets better with every performance. I reckon he'd bring a great energy, humour and warmth to the character.

To be honest, given his personality, I think that Ryan Reynolds would have been a much better choice for the Flash.

I can't comment on Grant Gustin, as Arrow hasn't got that far down here yet. Mind you, if he turns out to be good, why not make the leap to the big screen, from the small screen.

For Wally, again, given the time travel possibilities you could have a young Wally, and then an adult Wally showing up. These choices are based on Wally as a young adult, in his late teens to early 20's

1. Logan Lerman, say what you want about Percy Jackson films, but he's likeable, which is the key to making Wally a good character - he's a hot-head but he's not an annoying ass.

2. Josh Hutcherson, another pretty likeable kid (capable of range of emotion, i.e. Bridge to Terabithia ) can hold his own onscreen with actors with much more presence.

And that's where I'm up to so far, but hey it's all IMO.

If any of you folk up there in the Northern hemisphere have seen Gustin's Flash, or even his Barry Allen, and want to share some thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

cheers.

I didn't much care for Gustin at first based on the pictures I'd seen of him, he seemed very Andrew Garfield-lite, but I thought he did well with what he had to work with in Arrow and ended up really enjoying his performance, and am looking forward to him in the role, I hope he'll do well.

Still, not the "perfect" pick for Barry/Flash, but he did well enough. Right now I'm sitting on "serviceable with great potential" as my concrete opinion on him until I see the new Flash show.

WB/DC will do what they do when they need to do it

They have needed to do it since 2008, talk about dragging your feet. Obviously that Avengers money is spurring them on but it might be little to late. Avengers 2 comes out soon and then the novelty of seeing a bunch of heroes team up together might have wore of. I could be wrong but who knows, it would be great if they announced a few solo DC films in particular the flash. Quicksilver is hitting the screen this year and next as well, the GA will now think the Flash is a copy of him as opposed to it being the other way around.

Logan Lerman as Wally would be good, but I prefer Liam Aiken. He's a good actor and needs more exposure.
Lerman is everywhere these days. I think the audience will get tired of him soon.

The only image of the DOFP Quicksilver isnt very impressive .
I suspect Aaron Johnson will do a better job however .

Nice thing is WB is getting one live action version of The Flash out before BOTH Quick Silvers at least, well one version out before the better version of Quicksilver I should say anyway (I'm assuming Whedon's take will be the superior one of the two).

They have been trying to do it since 2004. Nolan is a big reason why it hasn't been done til now.
It's not a race. It doesn't matter who makes the movie first...what matters is the quality.

Ryan Gosling has been my number one pick for a loooongtime, but I doubt it will ever happen. :-/

Scoot McNairy was my top choice until Marvel snatched him up. I see Sam Claflin as a really good pick.

Gustin didn't make a bad Barry on Arrow. Yet to see him in action though. I'm really digging' Amell as Green Arrow though. He's a boss.

Matthew Grey Gubler...

This is one role that I could see a lot of different actors being able to pull off well.
